This thread is not going away this easy. I have seen a lot of people want to torch the OP and now do any have cojones to come forward and say they were wrong.

The last two games have been unacceptable. Having said that, Cuonzo did a fine job toward the end of last year and I believe he gets 3 years minimum.

The die hard Martin supporters will not be swayed regardless of the product on the court. They were posting how we would be ranked and "shocking the basketball world" at this point of the season.

Those posts have been replaced by assessments about the lousy preparation, laughable execution, and flat out unacceptable game management.

Everyone is well aware of the coach we have and his limitations. The question that remains is can he mature into a major level coach. My answer for that for the last year, no.

This isn't even a conversation worth having. Ridiculously absurd.

No, but not showing improvement from year 1 to year 2 and the same weaknesses biting us in the ass from last year will get more people talking and jumping off the CCM bandwagon. Fallowing Pearl wasn't going to be easy no matter what coach was hired.

At this point in the season last year we had lost to Oakland, Austin Peay, a bad (at the time) Pittsburgh team, and were getting ready to lose to College of Charleston.

So I'm not sure how in the world you can say that we haven't improved. And that is with our best player sitting on the bench with an injury.

The conversation at this point is absurd.

It'd be nice if you'd leave the facts off the board man.

I thought Stokes was our best player??? This reminds me of last year's football season when everyone on these boards was sayin' how good we would have been if only Hunter hadn't been injured. Guess our "best player" is always the guy that's not playing???

Stokes is clearly the most talented, but that doesn't always mean best. Jeronne was our best player last year, not sure how that can really be argued.

Not sure if the facts from last season relate to this season.
Last years problems were defensive.
We were scoring well but not stopping any one on defense.
This year we're playing great defense but I'm really not sure Martin has the players to make the type of motion he's running work.
You need great passers, and players that can read defense react and create their own shots.
I don't think he has either.
As a young coach, Martin needs to make necessary adjustments to his player's skill levels.
If he doesn't, he's looking at a possible losing season.
Only time will tell.

That's what message boards are for, fans venting their frustrations after we lose and acting like we have the greatest team in the history of basketball after a win.

still, our play this season has been disappointing but we have plenty of time to get things straightened out.

So, what I would do is either simplify the offense or call more sets plays, at least on the road.

We need to figure out a way to get some easy baskets.....we play great defense but it doesn't lead to steals and easy baskets on the other end for us.

I'd like to see a clear out with Richardson and Stokes working a two man game just once. Some semblance that the coach has some clue how to work his player's strengths.

What kind of two man game?

I can see it now, you ISO those 2 and joshs guy will sag so far off he can't even throw an entry pass to stokes. Are you feeling that good about Josh's outside shot?

And this is why I thought we'd run some, remember many asked would we run more than last year? So far the answer is hell no.

We are a pretty good rebounding team, id like to see some guys leaking out once in awhile or some outlet passes quick of a board...something just to try and get a couple easy looks a game. With as good of D as we play and low scoring games if we can get 10 points a game off fast breaks that'd be huge.

I think JP Prince has another year of eligibility remaining.

Yeah I agree.....it.can make the difference between us being a decent team and a pretty good team.....trying to grind out each possession is killing us.

High block give and go or low block drive and pass.

And Josh's mid range is fine too.
