Maybe he will turn out good. He's finally spreading his wings breaking away from Brian Kelly's legacy. We will see.

I agree and the same could be said that Kelley followed Dantonio and he turned out alright.

Tennessee is not a top 5 destination for sure now that we've made two of these hires.

This is UT..I knew the detractors would be out. We were jilted by several and found a coach that wants to be here. We rejected Kelly for Kiffin. Jones could be a Kelly clone. Cincy was a 3 pt. OT loss to UL to being in a BCS bowl this year. Give the man a chance.

I think it will be a good hire...while not a triple walk off grandslam in the 25th inning type of hire, he is definitely better than Dooley and Kiffin with an actual track record to prove it. Time to get on the Butch train! Oh..wait a sec..that doesn't sound right..

We just had a TN coach inducted into the Hall of Fame after learning how to be a great coach from a guy who had won a National Championship and went on and won a National Championship himself.

Jones could be a great hire for TN. He has won, record 50-27.

He won the Mid-American Conference championship in 2 of the 3 years at Central Michigan.

He tied for the Big East Championship in 2 of his 3 years there and was named Big East Coach of the Year in 2012.

He is also 2-1 against Strong who the majority of the board wanted to be named UT coach.

Lets give the guy a chance.

What style of offense does he run. Said on ESPN he would be looking for a different style of QB?

Jones is a proven winner who has an established reputation for getting more out of less talented players. Players absolutely love playing for him. I really like this hire. I'm glad we made a go at Gruden, but deep down we knew he was headed to the Cowboys, Eagles or another NFL team. Mike Gundy wasn't going to leave his alma mater any more than Phil Fulmer would have ever left Tennessee. Strong was our first real candidate and he showed loyalty to the guy who gave him his first break. No shame there. We landed a coach on the rise to take us with him.

Good bye.You lost me with weakness is recruiting.You do realize what conference we play in dont you.We also are in a state with a very small tallent pool to choose from.If u think this guy is going to go into other states and get players to come play at Tn.you r fning dreaming.We will be bottom feeders for the next 5 yrs.You can bank on that.Makes me sick I could puke right now.Not mad at Jones I am sure he is a good guy.I absolutley will contribute any amount of money I can to rid this university of Martin,Cheek,and BamaDave.
