Good News on Stokes

I'm confused about the whole clearinghouse thing. I thought you registered with the clearinghouse before you even graduated high school. He's already graduated, been highly ranked for awhile so you'd figure they've already reviewed his test scores, high school grades etc so what exactly is left to do?

You are correct but final certification can often times be delayed without really much reason given. It shouldn't be a problem but the NCAA may not like the precedent in this case and the only thing they can do is take their sweet time with the certification.

If we get him, I don't care too too much whether they drag their feet a bit clearing him. He'll need some time to integrate into the team anyways

Agreed for today.

Tomorrow I hope I am discussing what is missing from the clearinghouse so he can get pushed through quickly!

I don't see what issues the NCAA would have with this "precedent."
I guess it's possible more players will try to graduate early to be EEs. I doubt that many would, but for the ones who do, I don't see why the NCAA would react negatively. It's not like something shady is going on here. He graduated.

They got the man power when you look at how many of these they have to do but I could see them letting off the gas for about a month or so haha

Here is a Gary Parish tweet from earlier: I never got one email from a Memphis fan telling me Jarnell Stokes was overrated until the past 48 hours. Now I have 30. Why is that?

Here's the precedent:

A team suffers an injury in the early season. The first step would be to see if your early signees could graduate and do this. If that didn't help the next step would be to recruit the country to fill your need at semester break taking a kid off his hs team. If this becomes common place I would expect new rules to be put in place stopping it soon.
