Good that Texas A&M lost?

I think aTm's Locker Room is volatile...with lack of discipline and leadership...so the "L" against Bama is GOOD for the Vols with them having to come into the unfriendly confines of Neyland...

The ideal result would have been both teams mimicking a viral mma fight where both guys simultaneously knocked eachother out. However that didn’t happen. All week I’ve wondered what’s most beneficial to the Vols for next week- a Alabama win or Texas AM win? An Alabama loss or Texas AM loss?

Will Patrino and Jimbo be at each others necks and further cause an already tough road game to be tougher?

Or would it have been better for the Vols had AM won?

Will AM be deflated coming into Neyland?
No, going to be a tough game. A&M will be ready!

This is the best D line we have faced all year, 5 stars everywhere. If we can run it we are golden. Max Johnson is a very good passer in the pocket and we have to get to him. Milton has to hit some passes to back them off the line. Their safety went down and was replaced by a freshman.

Doesn't really matter one way or the other. That game next week will come down to whether we can run the football and not make mistakes. It will be a very close game more than likely. A&M is a talented team with a extremely mediocre, extremely overpaid coach, who's seat is starting to get warm. They'll come out and play with their pants on fire, hopefully it doesn't matter.

I don’t know that it matters. They thought they could shut down the run and force Milroe to beat them and he did. If Milroe can do it on the road then Joe can do it at home.
This is where I am, as well.

A&M was at home. That is a big factor. We win with the home crowd in a close game. Bama will be tough on the road, but we beat Kentucky on the Grocery Store field.

Keep in mind that Milroe has not looked very good and was able to beat A&M with virtually zero run game (Bama had negative rushing yards well into the third quarter), 9 false starts, and significant communication problems due to the crowd noise.

We won't be able to run the ball very effectively against A&M's front, but Joe should be set to have a field day on that secondary.

A&M seems to be a team that does not do well after losing a game. I believe it will be a factor and we win at home.

From a psychological standpoint it definitely would have been better if they had won, but on the flip side aTm sure didn't show anything that would scare you other than their punt returner. Luckily we've got the ole Aussie back there that everyone complained about after the first game or two.
I was complaining about him. Saying he was shaky would have been generous.
He looks much better now.

Walter Nolen and Texas A&M will be very hungry to erase the stench of a home loss and if Tennessee can run for 275 yards in this game, I like our chances of winning,
I like our chances if we rush for 150yds.
Our offense will force their DLine and LBs to defend sideline to sideline. Can't stack the box against us.
I think our scheme matches well with their defense.

I am certainly less worried about them then I was coming into this game. Max Johnson holds on to the ball too long, and A&M's offensive line does not look to be a strength. Their defensive line is legit no doubt, but their secondary is also not great. A lot of Milroe's throws were just poorly thrown but the receivers were either wide open, or the DB didn't get his head around to make an easy play on the ball.

If our offensive line can perform like they did against USCe then we'll be fine I think.
burton burned them all day long..will need to play a safety over the top on him and should be able to limit their big plays

DB didn't get his head around. Hmm their secondary made that thug burton look like an nfl receiver.
Like teams should always do, they found a weakness/mismatch that provided them the best way to move the ball downfield and exploited it.

If you read Texags, they think we're just going to blow them out with ease lol.

I was hoping they’d win, we’d hear nothing but Aggie-love & awesomeness all week but now it it be cries for Jimbo’s head.

Not sure but there is a chance that A&M will have self-doubt following that game. And the QB is going to be pretty sore. He took a beating.... but it should be worse from UT's pass rush.

BTW, the Mighty Canes were beaten by a pretty bad GT team today. As a reminder, GT lost to Bowling Green last week.

There is pretty strong evidence that the SEC just isn't as strong this year as its been. There is a lot more "parity".
Go read how 'Canes blew their game...didn't take knee an tech pulled a Dobbs to Jennings with seconds remaining.

Would have been better for bama to have less to play for when we come to town. Not sure what tamu team we get whether they had won or lost to bama. We should be ready either way.

Helps imo. A&M will need to come into Neyland with a hot start to have a chance to win. Not a great culture with Jimbo running the show there. If the VOLS can get up 10+ early, then the game is over, as is A&M's season.
Yep....seriously don't get the adulation for Jimbo. This will be the second decent program he destroyed. He seems like an average coach at best...yet, he gets the recruits. A very talented team with no real umph.

I would have preferred they lost because now they are desperate for a win and to save their season. Plus a team riding the high of beating Bama would be easier to knock off one that is more focused on getting a win. My suggestion = Vols staff needs to watch game film and plan accordingly. They will throw the kitchen sink next Saturday, we better be ready .
