No, going to be a tough game. A&M will be ready! The ideal result would have been both teams mimicking a viral mma fight where both guys simultaneously knocked eachother out. However that didn’t happen. All week I’ve wondered what’s most beneficial to the Vols for next week- a Alabama win or Texas AM win? An Alabama loss or Texas AM loss?
Will Patrino and Jimbo be at each others necks and further cause an already tough road game to be tougher?
Or would it have been better for the Vols had AM won?
Will AM be deflated coming into Neyland?
I was complaining about him. Saying he was shaky would have been generous. From a psychological standpoint it definitely would have been better if they had won, but on the flip side aTm sure didn't show anything that would scare you other than their punt returner. Luckily we've got the ole Aussie back there that everyone complained about after the first game or two.
I like our chances if we rush for 150yds.Walter Nolen and Texas A&M will be very hungry to erase the stench of a home loss and if Tennessee can run for 275 yards in this game, I like our chances of winning,
burton burned them all day long..will need to play a safety over the top on him and should be able to limit their big playsI am certainly less worried about them then I was coming into this game. Max Johnson holds on to the ball too long, and A&M's offensive line does not look to be a strength. Their defensive line is legit no doubt, but their secondary is also not great. A lot of Milroe's throws were just poorly thrown but the receivers were either wide open, or the DB didn't get his head around to make an easy play on the ball.
If our offensive line can perform like they did against USCe then we'll be fine I think.
Go read how 'Canes blew their game...didn't take knee an tech pulled a Dobbs to Jennings with seconds remaining. Not sure but there is a chance that A&M will have self-doubt following that game. And the QB is going to be pretty sore. He took a beating.... but it should be worse from UT's pass rush.
BTW, the Mighty Canes were beaten by a pretty bad GT team today. As a reminder, GT lost to Bowling Green last week.
There is pretty strong evidence that the SEC just isn't as strong this year as its been. There is a lot more "parity".
Yep....seriously don't get the adulation for Jimbo. This will be the second decent program he destroyed. He seems like an average coach at best...yet, he gets the recruits. A very talented team with no real umph.Helps imo. A&M will need to come into Neyland with a hot start to have a chance to win. Not a great culture with Jimbo running the show there. If the VOLS can get up 10+ early, then the game is over, as is A&M's season.
