Good that Texas A&M lost?

Game comes down to how TN plays. Play good we win by 10+. Why we should be a step ahead due to bye week vs playing physical grinding game week before. Plus A&m secondary can't cover. In CHRIST Alone

Line of scrimmage matchup:

A&M rush offense ranking: 80th
Vols rush defense ranking: 35th

Vols rush offense ranking: 7th
A&M rush defense ranking: 8th

Overall, I think it is a favorable matchup for Tennessee at home. When you stop an opponents run game in Neyland, like we did against USCjr, you see what happens. A&M’s defense will tire over time. If it was in College Station, I’d have a different opinion. Expecting Vols to win and cover the spread.

This game is 100% about our team. Who will show up?

The Vols have a TON of potential, but most of if it is unrealized at this point. They can go out on any Saturday and win against anyone.

However, the Vols have also proven that they can lay down and die against mediocre competition. We don’t have a great track record in big games … and we do have a nasty habit of helping struggling opponents to get back on track rather than stepping on their necks.

The way they lost was deflating. That type of loss sticks with you. If we go up a few touchdowns or 10 points or more early I think they cave. That was one of the worst losses I have ever seen with how it ended.

I don't think we will be able to run against them. I hope we can, but really don't think we can.
Definitely not for 275 yards but I’ll allow it if we do. I’m interested to see how Heupel schemes up this game against the aggies. The Vols need to have some success running the ball to prevent us from being one dimensional. This bye week came at a great time from a game plan and getting healthy standpoint.

If I were them I would try to put the game in Milton's hands and stop UT's run. If Milton steps up and makes them pay then UT will have some open run lanes. If not, it could be a long day.

Kind of an interesting game since UT will probably try to do the same. UT is #1 in the SEC in sacks/gm. A&M is #2. UT is 3rd in sacks allowed. A&M is 6th. A&M is #1 in TFLs. UT is #2. UT is 4th in PPG. A&M is 6th. A&M is 1st in Total D. UT is 5th. A&M is 1st in rush D. UT is 6th. A&M is 3rd in pass D. UT is 4th.

UT is 4th in total O. A&M is 6th. UT is 4th in scoring O. A&M is 5th.

Statistically two pretty evenly matched teams. The SOS is different but if you account for that A&M's stats aren't as comparable.

More than likely you have two relatively equal teams that will try to gameplan each other the same way.

Would be a GREAT week for the lights to come on for Milton.

Doesn't matter. Like "bulletin board material" it doesn't have any influence whatsoever when they walk on the field on Saturday. It's just soap opera fodder for fans!
False for anyone who has ever played any sport. In a perfect world every team plays to their potential and shuts out the noise each week. Humans aren’t perfect….. emotion is always involved and coaches will always use it to their advantage if possible.

The ideal result would have been both teams mimicking a viral mma fight where both guys simultaneously knocked eachother out. However that didn’t happen. All week I’ve wondered what’s most beneficial to the Vols for next week- a Alabama win or Texas AM win? An Alabama loss or Texas AM loss?

Will Patrino and Jimbo be at each others necks and further cause an already tough road game to be tougher?

Or would it have been better for the Vols had AM won?

Will AM be deflated coming into Neyland?

That they lost like they did, yes it helps. The best result would have been Alabama beating them by 45 points while wearing them down physically and mentally

Yes, but bad AL won. Where is a meteor when you need one?

No because it was to Bama. I would pull for Sadam against Satan and Bama.

A&M cared more about beating BAMA and the VOLS are an afterthought. While somewhat demoralized A&M will still come and give us their best shot. The Crowd needs to show up and give the VOLS that extra energy and emotion to WIN this Big Game.

A&M will load up the box and force us to throw. Others had tried it but they actually have the defense to make it count. Milton needs a solid game and the receivers need to catch the damn ball - and I don’t care if it’s a fastball. It’s going to be a war.
