When pressed, and in public, this is the intellectual approach/excuse as to why the Tea Party people will tell you they resent poor people: that they worry about their poor black brethren and the datsardly harm done to them by the Democrats who keep them down with entitlement programs.

what a load of crap.

But that isn't the true motivation.

We all know it.
We don't all know anything. If you're hinting toward the silliness you proffered yesterday, you've lost your mind.

When pressed , and in public, this is the intellectual approach/excuse as to why progressives will tell you they cater to poor people: that they worry about their poor black brethren and the dastardly harm done to them by the republicans who keep them down by mongering the money.

See what I did there?

The upper class views it as a zero sum game. For every dollar spent on programs delivering good and services to the lower classes, they view that as a dollar out of their pockets in taxes and for which they receive no return.

The debate is whether they get no return.

no it isn't. The debate is about self actualization - good, bad or indifferent. That's what freedom is about, period. The debate is about exacerbation of the problem rather than a fix.

The debate is about a lot of things, none of which even contemplate return.

Hard to argue with someone who has white guilt.

None of this debate changes the fact that if everybody in this country put a premium on self-support and self-dignity this whole race and freeloader card being played would be mute. That is the entire point as far as I'm concerned.

yes the real motivation is keeping the blacks down and our fear they might move to our neighborhoods when obama hands them thousands of dollars despite zero evidence that these handouts help people in any what whatsoever.

For a person who complains so much about divisive and incendiary rhetoric LG sure is good at it.

it's an old democrat ploy. . . when you have no actual argument as to why you support something, play the race card.

2) Your question assumes that you are measuring the correct metric when you say the gap was narrowing, and is now expanding. Is that based on means? Medians? Or mode? Also, what is the basis for establishing what the average minority household makes versus a white household? Is it strictly income or is it wealth? The racial wealth gap | OK Policy Blog

it's based on virtually any metric you want to look at whether it be % of the population in poverty compared to whites, median and avg income compared to whites, and % of population with a higher education compared to whites. i.e. in every one of these categories black people were narrowing the gap every generation since slavery before the civil rights movement since the movement it has widened considerably.

You have either lost your mind or harbor the feelings you are projecting on to TPs. I'm not sure which but neither is a good thing.
