Gotham (FOX) will feature Commissioner Gordon & GPD!

It sucks cause he was awesome as "The Joker", but I wondered when he first came on the show how long he would last. I would imagine doing 2 one hour shows full time would be hard to pull off, and I knew he wasn't about to leave Shameless. Hated that he died, but I did like how it showed various people in the city already imitating him.

How would that be considered jumping the shark? It's already been talked about in this very thread that the creators always planned to tease the identity of the Joker and that there would be multiple times people thought they knew who was going to end up in that role but they'd probably be wrong. Plus, they laid it out with the foreshadowing when his dad was "prophesying" his impact on Gotham.

If you don't like it because you liked the actor, that's one thing but, for someone who pays attention to this show (and seemingly every show, ever), this really shouldn't have come as that big of a surprise. And, from a storytelling point of view, the impact and future influence of what happened last night would make a lot more sense as something that leads to the eventual real thing down the road.

What I'm saying is if you follow twitter it really pissed off a lot of fans of the show and a whole lot are saying they want watch again.

Now if the ratings come back after next weeks show and the ratings are off then yeah they jumped the shark!

I get that part, I too think it sucked that the actor won't be on there anymore because he was really good but, from the point of view of the story, I don't think it's a bad thing.

Cobblepot's still the brilliance of this show.

I can agree with that. I wonder if the people that make the show thought at any point, "damn he is a little too good." The fans will be shredding the next "Joker" if he is just a little off. Lol I do think its good overall, and a plus is we probably get more Penguin now.

Just making a decision that just negatively impacts ratings isn't what that phrase even means but okay.

So some shows get praise for their willingness to off popular characters, others do not it seems. I thought he was great and thought the episode was great. I am watching to see how they continue to evolve that end of the story.

Penguin is still awesome. Barbara is the only storyline that makes no sense to me.

I agree.

I think killing off Jerome was probably the smarter thing to do for the show in the long run. It was quickly becoming the joker show.

Imo they shouldn't of made him JUST like the joker . Now it's kinda like the joker riped him off

Doctor Who Actress Michelle Gomez Joins Gotham As 'The Lady'

Doctor Who actress Michelle Gomez is set to make a dramatic entrance in the hit US television show Gotham, which tells the story of Batman as a young boy.

Gomez, who plays the new version of The Master (known as Missy) in the long-running BBC science-fiction show, will be seen as a new character called "The Lady" in the next episode of Gotham, available on FOX in the US.

The episode, "A Bitter Pill to Swallow", airs on Monday Nov 16 Stateside and will see the iconic Doctor Who actress star alongside the son of former Time Lord Jon Pertwee, Sean Pertwee (who play’s young Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred).

Liked seeing Bruce grow in these last two episodes. He seems a little too smart for his age. That's some serious emotional control he has to be able to pull off the stuff he did with Silver.

I'm hoping the show will go to where we get to actually see him become batman.
