Gotta win the SEC tourney now

right, i'm definitely not saying that the odds favor us, but there's enough of a chance to give it some attention.

to me, there are no odds...are you taking about like boise st. Losing out, nova losing out...heck creighton beat wichita st. Today...didn't see xavier final....plus we have to win out and win 2 or more games away from tommy bowl???? Those odds don't deserve much attention to me...maybe a 2% chance. If there is a 2% chance it rains i don't pack my umbrella

Weak attempt at smart-ass response. The guy is trying to be positive for the sake of UT. You suggested he shouldn't. Let the man cheer on his team.

Are you serious, man? In what world does "cheering for your team" and "having unrealistic expectations" mean the same thing? Read your post. It makes no sense. It's like I said "James Franklin is a jackass." And you said "Stop dissing unicorns, man. They're awesome." Your oddly-construed beef with my post is COMPLETELY non sequitur.

To clarify, for anyone else I may have offended--I hope the poster I originally quoted, Chris4Vols22, and everyone else in this thread cheers for the Vols in the next 2 games AND the SEC Tourney AND the post-season tourney we end up in AND every other game they EVER play. (I sure as hell will be.) I also hope the poster I originally quoted doesn't slit his wrists on Selection Sunday if we win the next two and one in the SEC Tourney. Is that clear enough for you Chris?

I'm not saying there are literally odds written down, but our chance is less likely with less wins, more likely with more wins, no?

Yeah...if i buy 3 powerball tickets...then technically, my odds of winning are greater if i buy 1 powerball ticket...

Jesus, you need to roll yourself a blunt. And let people cheer for their team. The guy was hoping we could win enough games without winning the tourney to get in. I support his decision to cheer them on, and I resent your efforts to thwart him.

okay...you're right...i respectfully disagree....i will submit the following

we beat auburn and mizzou...then win 2 tourney games against whomever we draw....

If we get in as an at large bid i will resign from this site and never post again...ever..ever

watch when nardi's matrix comes out and we are way down and out...i wish it was different but this was a must win game...now its on to the tourney

The Fact you just named Lunardi to try and prove your point discredits anything you say from here on out.

A loss at home to Missouri would hurt the RPI worse than this road loss. If we win our next two and maybe two in the tourney, we are still in.

Hey bleedingorange.....didn't u or someone make a thread last year about games of interest of the bubble teams? May be a good idea for one this year as well

ya because all those people on the panel with espn money flowing through their veins won't take into account the most popular bracket matrix on the world's largest sports network...you're the one that needs to get a clue

Yea I did, Shaun started something I believe it's stickied, not sure if it's updated daily or not. If not I can do it again, it was a fun time iirc.

not saying its fact but to totally discredit it isn't right either. We will drop off the map in all bracket matrix.

No we won't. We'll drop off his, yes, but there will be many that still have us in the picture.

And make no mistake, we ARE in the picture.

Wanna bet? We will still be on the "map" and be in some brackets when it's updated, wanna bet?

Here's your assignment, compare UT resume to Ole Miss who is thought of as in of first four out by your god Lunardi, get back to me with results.

If Selection Sunday was tomorrow, you might have a point. But it's not. Two more reg season games And possibly four tourney games. Let the season play out, gloom and doom.

Arizona St, a bubble team, just lost. They finish up at #11 Arizona which would be their 4th loss in a row.

i forgot that they don't look at head to head matchups where we lost to ole miss twice

I think it is as simple as this. Beat auburn and Mizzou. Win Thursday and Friday in the tourney. That alone leaves a chance to sneak in but A LOT needs to fall our way. If we win Saturday and get to the championship, I'm confident we get in. The original prevailing thought around here was win out, win Friday and we are in. I personally thought that winning only one in the tourney was leaving a lot to chance. I figured we needed two to be sure. Now I think two leaves a lot to chance and three gets us in.

3 gets us in for sure since we'd be the winner of the tournament.
