That's sort of the whole crux of it. The Colts sat on that problem for years and just hoped Sanders would stay healthy. There's no way Belichick would have let his whole team be held hostage to Sanders' status every season like that. He would have never have let that fester year after year. "Oh shat, our safety's out again? Well, Tom, I hope you're ready to score a bunch of points this year, because it's going to be tough for us to stop anybody." Yet that's pretty much what the Colts' attitude about it was.

There's just no comparison in the quality of the organizations around Manning and Brady. Any reasonable comparison of the two has to be grounded in that.

That was a weird season because in like week 14 or so they gave up something like 375 yards rushing to Jacksonville then the playoffs started and went on the road and beat Baltimore, KC and got New England at home. But the D played well in all those game and also did well in the Super Bowl. Sanders was healthy, one of the few times.

Which is why the whole debate is apples to oranges. I take brady because he has the rings, but theres no question that few if any players in nfl history have meant to their team what peyton means to the colts. Maybe sanders to the lions or marino to the phins, but not much else.

IIRC, they had an historically bad rush defense that year but put it all together in the playoffs. Not real sure though, I missed a lot of that season.

You are right, the rush defense was terrible and they kept saying "we can fix it" I never believed them but when the playoffs started the D was completely different. Like a completely different team.

They had the worst run D in the history of the NFL during the regular season. It's a miracle that they made the playoffs.

Sanders was healthy in the playoffs, and they moved Rob Morris back into the starting lineup at OLB which made them a lot tougher against the run. Combine those factors with facing mostly inept offense in the playoffs, and the D looked pretty strong in that playoff run to the SB.

Literally every person who isn't a colts fan knew they were awful without peyton...

How about 12 straight years of playoffs, 2 Super Bowl appearances won this division all but 2 years and then a dumb ass like you wants to come out and pound your chest with your sorry ass team being 1-1, where were you last week when the Jags stomped that ass?

Hahaha.

Seriously dude... bragging about the Titans losing to one of the Colts rivals is sad. Are you going to rub it into Florida fans when they lose to Alabama? Probably.

You want to know where he was when the Titans were losing last week? Where were you 13 years ago when Peyton wasn't with the Colts? You obviously weren't a fan before him. You don't even care about the Colts drafting a future QB because you're done cheering for the team when he retires. That's sad

At least he ate his crow and admitted peyton was the difference between indy contending and sitting at home for the playoffs.

nothing instills humility like a home loss to the browns.

And you know nothing about me, so just to clear it up for the 57489348948934903490 time because you like a few others here are slow. I was a Colts fans when they drafted Faulk and have been since then. So I was a Colts fan pre Manning and will be post Manning. That is the last time I will do that I can't help some of you are dumber than a box of rocks. I am sure you were a Houston Oilers fans though, so while Titans fans always want to question why a Colts fan is a fan of them there is no difference in being a fan of a team just because they play in the state in which you live.

Well, I, and most other Titans fans, would disagree here. But, that's why we're fans of the home state team, and you're a fan of a team that you have a legitimate opportunity to see play once a year.

I think we should start a pool for how long VFJ remains a fan of this dumpster fire of an organization once Peyton is gone.

When did the Titans become a model organization? Make all the pools you want, I will be a Colts fan until I die. But believe what you want, does not matter to me at all.

Only one legitimate opportunity a year? There are things called cars and planes now which all you to travel long distances in relatively short times. So just to let you know I have saw the Colts play here and in Indy. It's only like a 4.5 hour drive from here

I'll take Terry Bradshaw over anybody because of the rings. I think it's a very flawed reasoning. JMO IMO.
