Great comment by Steven on Pearl situation.

Some sports talk host from Kentucky was on with Hooker today and said he believes Pearl will be a HC in the SEC next year. Says the most likely place is Alabama.

Do the protectors of right and wrong on this board think it is OK for another school in the SEC to hire BP?

The protectors will be gone when CCM goes. I for one do not want Pearl going to some other SEC school sticking it to us once or twice a year.
Does anyone think of the mistake Kentucky made in letting Bear Bryant get away or the mistake they made when they wouldn't pay Pat Summitt's moving expenses. I'm sure a lot of Kentucky fans have thought about it over the years.
If we can get Pearl back, we damn well should.

Petrino committed adultery. It happens. Its not against NCAA rules. He didn't receive a show cause. And he wasn't even at UL at the time.

What Pearl did is completely different. The situations are not even remotely similar.

Actually, Petrino met with Auburn in secrecy behind Louisville's back then dumped them for the Falcon's.

Having said that I don't even entertain the Pearl coming back thing, but at least get your Petrino screw ups straight.

Sparty, that still doesn't change what I wrote, except to maybe say I should have stated that lying AND GETTING CAUGHT to the NCAA is a capital crime. That's not an opinion. It's a fact. I'm not saying I like it or that his punishment was just. I'm just saying that when the NCAA knows they have you red-handed, and you blatantly lie anyway, then confess that you lied (which essentially takes the guessing and detective work off their hands), there really is no way to undo that.

Capital crime?

Edit: Nevermind I see what you are saying

"Some sports talk host" is clueless. The show cause doesn't expire until August. Hiring season is in April. Nobody wants Pearl badly enough to wait 4 months without a coach for him.

Still not an NCAA violation, so the gist of K-town's post stands.

Actually it doesn't. The argument (albeit a pretty stupid one) was if Louisville takes Petrino back then Tenn could take Pearl back. Had really nothing to do with an Ncaa violation the way I read it.

I don't have to. I know I'm right. It's program suicide to go without a coach for 4 months.

Pearl won't coach anywhere until AT LEAST the 2015-16 season.

If we never go to the tourney and I knew we wouldn't then how is the four month thing going to hurt us? How has firing Pearl helped our program? Attendance is down, we haven't made the tourney, only post season victory was over that powerhouse Savanah ST. and God knows how many shameful losses so obviously you really don't care about the program, you only care about the hatred you have for Pearl which you displayed even before he was fired.
