Great Vols from Knoxville

He's listed at 6'1", but he's really like 5'11". Kid doesn't have an FBS offer.

One of his receivers is Davis Howell, who broke the national record for receptions in a career. He doesn't have a single college offer.

Whoa! I have watched them the last two years. I realize he was in a good system there. But he sure was accurate.

Facilities, at least in the more wealthy areas of the city, are fine, and the coaching here is very good. You won't find facilities like a high school in Texas or California would have, but they're usually adequate for the job they're supposed to do.

To be honest with you, I'm not sure why. Knoxville ends up producing a lot of guys who go to play college ball, but almost none of them end up playing at the FBS level.

It is strange

They've been very impressive. I enjoy watching them.

High's stature is a concern, but I think the kid could play QB in a low-major league like the Sun Belt. He's accurate and very mobile from what I've seen.

I shouldn't say it, but he reminds me of a short Bo Wallace

He has good touch

I'm not being racist , but only stating facts. You tell me what most players in the NFL are that are not O-Linemen or QB's. Caucasian? I think not.

It is true...I was on an all white high school football team. We were terrible. Actually better in basketball.

Why'd you change your name? It took me a while to know who you were because I was on mobile

One of the things I've noticed is that Knoxville players tend to be very undersized for the next level. They're excellent high school players, but they just don't have the size to play SEC football.

I'm just saying, white players can play at the next level too, and even if I was just to chalk it up to that, it doesn't completely explain things.

That is probably what Murfreesboro is and they are cranking out all kinds of Fbs players. And smaller than knoxville

Murfreesboro actually has 17% black population while Knox County is only 8%:peace2:

I didn't think that other name though. It was a real family friend. Since I have a potty mouth on here, I needed to get to a fake name. I wanted longdongsilver but freak helped me pick that name.

Knox County is at 8%. Knoxville is at 17%.

So it sounds like the city of Murfreesboro and the city of Knoxville are both about 80/20 or whatever. But that Murfreesboro league is bad to the bone. It probably helps that they have newer schools. Huge booster clubs. The best of everything. I guess having that good competition helps. They are all 6A schools with 100 kids on the team. Lots of school spirit / pride. They have opened such a gap that none of the rural schools want to play them anymore.

How many state championships did Murfreesboro teams win this year? Knoxville teams won 3.

That is true. But in Rutherford County, they have six 6A schools. So in the best year, they could only win one.

Actually they were a little down this year.

Siegel, Riverdale and Oakland are all 6A? That is a growing area.

And Blackman is also 6A

In that same county, Smyrna and Lavergne are both 6A.

It probably helps them that except for Lavergne, the other five all have strong programs.
