Greatest Vol Player that didn't play in the NFL?

Insert the name of any of the various 5* busts here....

Demetrice Morley
Daniel Brooks
Chris Donald
Kenny O Neal
Ben Martin (at least his was due to injury)
Etc
Etc

Or.... A trophy winning lineman with the last name Munoz...

None of those fit the op description of the greatest Vol player not to play in the NFL ... Though he wouldn't be my pick, Munoz would qualify despite you dissing him . He was a four year starter and a consensus All American his senior year . He also played hurt all four years

Shuler gets a lot of crap from Redskin media pundits for being a bust--but I'm not sure he was. Maybe. The Redskin teams he was on were TERRIBLE, for starters. I think he had a rough rookie year, but as I recall he was beginning to get it when he hurt his foot, which quickly ended his career.

Actually, I was wrong about Shuler. He was my favorite QB ever at UT--liked him more than Manning--but he did in fact stink as a pro. He had 15 career TD passes in four or so years and 33 INTs, and completed right at 50 percent of his passes. Bad numbers. And his career QB rating was 53. Sorry, Heath--those are busto numbers, for sure!

There was a report that scouts practically laughed at Casey Clausen's weak arm when he had his pro day or somesuch. He didn't have a cannon but he could get the ball down the field reasonably well, I thought. I was surprised to hear that.

Jay Graham had all pro size and speed as a running back--but he did not have the eyes good backs need. He couldn't find holes unless there was a big one right in front of him--like the one through which he ran for 80 yards or so against bama one year.

Why didn't Major play pro football?

The NFL and CFL weren't big on single wing tailbacks in the 1950s. Johnny tried out for Montreal and then became a Graduate assistant at Tennessee before going to Mississippi State.

Jenzen Jackson was amazing he lit up people very well but unfortunately lighting up was the reason he didn't make it to the nfl
