If you played around that time,I probably watched several of your games. My nephew played for the Rugby team during that time. Pretty impressive how the teams fought so hard during the game, then partied together that night.Actually he was slow to touch the ball down and a guy or two bounced off of him.
I did.
I was there before and after Amsler. We managed to have a good time. It’s a hooligans game played by gentlemen. If you played around that time,I probably watched several of your games. Agreed, if Webb had not been injured early in the season vs. Pacific, there’s likely some hardware on The Hill (natty, Heisman, or both).Chuck Webb. No doubt. If he hadn’t been injured G2 of 1990, that team likely wins a NC.
Cobb wasn’t on that 1990 team, BTW. Thompson was the RB in that Sugar Bowl against UVA.
A friend of mine played Rugby at UT and then in the Army. He was tough. Bob Ball was his name. He played rugby on every continent while in the Army.If you played around that time,I probably watched several of your games. My nephew played for the Rugby team during that time. Tough doesn’t begin to describe Bob Ball. He was before my time but was around a lot. I think he came back and played in more than 30 Old Boys matches.
