Gridiron Cats may be in trouble

No. It will probably be very severe. Someone in the program told me people are hearing rumors players might leave the program. Idk though.

Yep and then we got a 3 star WR. Much rather have the defense than offense though.

Dang, sucks for you guys.

What reason does someone need to throw bottles at someones car? Same logic. Young guys are going to do stupid things for dumb reasons.

So retaliation by violent measures is acceptable to you?

You think he deserved it and whipped up some made up, second hand rumor of a story to justify, in your mind, the felonious assault the thugs from your FB team committed. They need to serve time if they did beat that young man.

Obligatory reading comprehension question...Is it that hard for you to understand what I just posted?

UK players deserve to be punished severely. EKU player may or may not have done something...no matter what he could have done, it doesn't deserve a bottle to the face.

It's not a rumor that he threw bottles at Nerlens car. He said that about himself. As for the rumors about if he did something, I agree that you can't trust that witness because he was a friend of Drews.

If this was a UT player what would you say? I'm sure you'd do the exact thing as most of VN did when AJ was accused of rape. Whether or not the players are guilty, we have to know everything first before assuming. And then punish accordingly.

Looks like a DE just decommitted.

lol ouch. Whats going on at kentucky? They lost a DT to OSU, the twins to MSU, now this guy all within the past few days. I think they also lost backup QB as a graduate transfer to San Diego st this month.

Will end up being a smaller class than I thought we'd get. I still wish we could flip Josh Smith from Vandy and get more offensive/defense lineman. We're still in the running for a couple 4 stars on defense though. Will not end up being the class we dreamed, but some good pieces. Got a couple good transfers that will sit one year from Nebraska. 2016 recruiting needs to be a lot better for sure though. OSU rising back up hurts though, because that's a big pipeline for us. Coaching staff needs to really find some underrated gems.

The QB who announced the transfer is Max Smith. He played for us earlier in his career but was recruited over. Towles, Barker, and Reese Phillips were all ahead of him. He was probably just as bad as Jalen Whitlow was, which says something.

Not sure if this coaching staff is as connected in UGA as we were in the past, but wish we could get back down there and tap into all that talent like UT has.

Little Cat is talking out of his ass concerning Max. He was hurt 3 years ago (shoulder) and never really recovered. He was far better than Whitlow and healthy, he would have given Towles a run for his money.

The losing of recruits is the Big 10 effect- win a NC and all of a sudden, Ohio recruits want to stay close to home.

It's a what-if situation. Obviously I'm taking into account his injuries when comparing him to other players. He probably is slightly better than Whitlow, but wasn't good enough to keep the job because he couldn't stop getting hurt. Whitlow had some potential too, wish he could have accepted a different role. But for Max...I do think it's unfair to him, because he was good at one point. Whitlow just plain sucked, and Smith sucked because his health. I remember as a freshman he had some good moments. But once he was hurt, he was too fragile and soft to play. Sad for him because he had good size and a strong arm. When I say he's behind the three we have now, it's because he was. He was never going to be on the field again at UK. Everyone knew that.

No need to have such a dickhead attitude all the time McCat.

I'm a dickhead, it's what I do. But you didn't mention his injuries. It was well-known that his shoulder was the problem. He was respectable as any freshman could have been in the SEC.

Someone suggested the Harris/Barker duo have changed recruits minds about UK. Damien Harris, an elite instate prospect, turned it down and decided to go to a traditional power. It hurt, but he said before he didn't grow up a UK fan, so maybe we shouldn't have gotten our hopes up. Barker was a highly regarded player, almost top 100 nationally, but has been an idiot on campus. Maybe they see that and think something is wrong with the program's environment.

Definitely losing guys to better schools, which is better if they were decommitting to go to a lower tier program. There's a correlation with the 5-7 record though. It's difficult to tell a recruit, "Look, we won't win titles, maybe barely make a bowl game, but you'll be trying to set a foundation for future players". They all want to play immediately and win conference/national titles. Recruits aren't going to flock to a school that has no tradition and is a long term project. It's nothing to be frustrated with, it'll just take a few years to get into a groove. A school like UT got an unbelieveable coaching staff that recruits well, has a good base in-state, spends a ton of money historically to go out and get players, has the tradition recruits like, and is a good school that is clearly a few steps ahead (with a much higher ceiling) in the rebuilding process.

Stoops will just have to work his butt off developing talent and hoping some underrated guys arise. Brooks did a good job doing that, but Joker couldn't sustain it.

Hard to blame the coaching staff on losing Harris. There's nothing else they could have done to sway him from Bama who keeps winning championships every year like you said. My brother who goes to the same school as him, saw Harris wearing a UK sweatshirt the day after he announced for Bama so he could have been trolling UK all this time. Not saying he couldn't have been a good player for you guys cause he could have been a star, but if he truly wanted to go to UK, he would have done so. Stoops is going to have to work his butt off if he wants to make Kentucky competitive in football.

Lots of people got mad at him for pretending to like UK just so he could go to games free for a while. He visited UK a ton,got to know people, and that's his really only reason he considered UK imo. I don't think he was much of a kid who grew up dreaming of building a program. He was pressured by an entire state, and I think it was actually more impressive he decided to go with the safe choice. He's a good kid, seems very mature, and I hope we get to see him down the road having a stellar career at Bama.
