Griffith implies VolNation is a large source of motivation for team

I'm amazed that the Vols coaching staff and the Knoxville media thinks that we have some sort of weird power over the Vols coaching stability.

would you agree with me that the people covering UT sports seem to be way too buddy buddy with their subjects vs. Other places?

I've seen one Knoxville media member chase Fulmer's oldest daughter around the practice facility.

...and what these guys don't seem to get is that we don't need to read past their byline to know what the story is . . . Which is why people come to a place like this.

that's probably because I read it in a thread on here 2 days earlier

If VN serves as such a motivational tool you would think Fulmer would be ripped and toned by now.

My question is simple. If this place and its members are so awful, why did Griff spend so much time spamming his blog around here? It's pretty intellectually dishonest to go on the radio attacking a site without letting your audience know you got banned from that forum for refusing to adhere to the rules against spamming in a pathetic attempt to get your click count up. Who wants to bet he's moved that act over to Hoopsville or some other sheep haven?

You're right on the money. I saw him spamming Hoopsville the other day.

I doubt their motivation comes from this board. However, I bet the players do read VN. It is the best site on the web for TN sports, which is where they play. I am sure they are interested in what the fans have to say. But from that its a leap to say that is their motivation for playing well.

Don't give yourselves too much credit. This is a I think I know a lot about basketball because I watch a lot of games on tv and played on the public courts at the ymca board.

That is all great and dandy. But since it's a playing career thing that matters, how did Bruce's playing career go?

Pearl is a master motivator but I would find it odd to try and motivate using some posts from a few UT fans on a message board- I don't really understand Griffith's obsession.

Bc the guys could never google their names on their own. LMAO. Social networking sites are the fastest growing of any. Its also the fastes growing medium Ask BernadeTte Foster, aka "Foster Mom" if this stuff ever motivates guys.

Doubters motivating players is brand new. Was ushered in by Internet.

To clarify an earlier post, I wasn't casting any aspersions at Mike Strange. He's top of the line. Deserves a better gig than working at KNS.

I'm not saying that negative things said about a person aren't motivating. What I am saying is that if you make what people post on a message board a center piece for your motivational tools, you will not be very successful in the long run.

True. Michael Jordan never used psychological games with himself for motivation until the internet came along. MJ had an average career until chat rooms popped up.

Exactly. That type of motivation goes out the window the moment the ball is tipped.
