Chavis has said several times he does not want to be a head coach and does not want to deal with booster functions and everything involved, but you never know

Who cares about gruden omg. The guy was an average coach that got booted out by his last team. I say we go get Chavis and restore this Tennessee defense and hire trooper Taylor for o coordinator. I'm tired of them going out of the house for people who don't wanna be here or people who don't deserve to be here. I say give Chavis a shot and we won't be disappointed[/QUOTE]

Either there are a lot of naive individuals on here or a lot of folks who know more info about the Gruden "situation" than others...

Either way I just want UT back to the good ole days of WINNING..

Go Vols!! Stay optimistic guys!!!

No! I'm not sure you know much about Trooper's tatics. He is as dirty as they come. He was taken off the recruiting trail almost two months ago due to NCAA investigations into Auburn, specifically Trooper. If he was on our staff with the probation we are under we would be in a shallow NCAA grave.

As to the agents comments; he is an egomaniac with his head so far up his own @$$ he wipes his mouth when he takes a dump. I would not believe anything that he says.

I wonder what went down while he was on staff at UT?

Even if Gruden were to come here how many years would it be before an NFL team with much deeper pockets comes sniffing around and trying to entice him away. I say at most he'd be here three years. As much as I would like to have Gruden I wonder if it would be worth the NFL drama all the time. Go to the AA about the show cause with Tressel. Get him in here and bring back Chavis as DC and we would be just fine. GBO.

agree 199% gruden is a 1%er anyway and he never was a good coach he walked into a great program at Tampa Bay and screwed it up so bad he had to leave town under shuuuush .... I for one am thrilled he is not going to be coach at ut. Chavis HC :peace2:

Yea average coaches don't win Super Bowls. Chavis and Trooper aren't going to team up. Not exactly best friends.

Sure. Why not? If he still has Gerald Jones' number, he can have UT recruits call him up and find out why they should sign with Auburn...

Gruden's agent, Bob LaMonte, told The Knoxville News-Sentinel on Friday that reports Gruden was mulling over a contract offer from Tennessee were from a "fantasy world."

When I read the agent's comment, I couldn't help but feel that it was a straight up insult.

How many agents out there do you ever hear say..."wow, that's an offer that will not be refused". Agents are like politicans.....never enough money no matter how many zeros are in it.
