I'm in Ohio. Very connected to big time OSU booster and personal friend of Mr. Tressel. I'm hearing that this absolutely has legs. I do not know more than that. Apparently, the show cause on Tressel involves a minimal game suspension with no effect on recruiting. Again, this is what I was told just now. TIFWIW

BTW, I am not flaming here. This friend is absolutely credible. His friendship means too much for me to simply post hot air on a message board. Since it is so credible, I thought all of you would want to know about it.

So far the OP has gone through Fulmer, Gruden, Pinkel, and now Tressel. He should join the local media.

I dont understand why people want to lie about everything just to get attention

I guess its the reason our country is going to hell in a handbasket

I seriously don't appreciate that. I'm not trolling. Just passing on what I heard first hand. It may be wrong, but it comes from a source who is beyond reproach, and in fact, holds a very high position in State of Ohio government.

So, it's my understanding that this is a forum. And, as such, a forum is a means to place valid information. Had I felt it was invalid, I would not have put it in here, obviously risking being on the receiving end of assanine comments such as yours.

I give no credence to the article link associating Tressel to the job, BTW.

You might want to cut and paste this post into the regular Jim Tressel thread if you'd like to see more discussion about it. I'd move it for you, but that would bury it several posts back in chronological order.

I can't take seriously the idea that UT would hire a guy with Tressel's NCAA baggage right now myself, but this seems to be the breathless gossip of the morning.

Not really taking a poke at you personally (although on second reading it definitely comes across that way...) so much as pointing out how easy it is for folks to come on here and say pretty much anything... It has been done repeatedly here in the past few weeks. The mods, by the way, have done remarkable jobs refereeing all the overlapping threads, multiple posts and deleting/banning where necessary. Sorry if I came off as singling you out... Not my intention.
