Sure it does. If Obama is Pres and gets to nominate a judge, you will see 5-4s in the other direction.

My disdain for McCain is stronger than my fear of 5-4 decisions in the supreme court. Mainly because there is no guarantee that McCain will nominate a conservative judge (because he isn't a true conservative). Hell, even Bush II tried to run a moderate like Miers on to the bench before the conservative street forced him to select Alito.

If Bush isn't guaranteed to give you a conservative judge, what in the hell makes anybody think John McCain will?

Never said McCain will give you a conservative judge, but what do you think Obama is going to serve up?

Amazing. Here are some quotes from some liberal leaders.

"I am profoundly disappointed in Justice Roberts and Justice Alito, both of whom assured us of their respect for precedent. With this decision, 70 years of precedent has gone out the window. And I believe the people of this great country will be less safe because of it."
- Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif.

"Today, President Bush's radical Supreme Court justices put rigid ideology ahead of the safety of communities in New Jersey and across the country. This decision illustrates why I have strongly opposed extremist judicial nominees and will continue to do so in the future."
- Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J.

Here are some other quotes they may be interested in

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." - Thomas Jefferson

A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government.

- George Washington

If Gore had been elected the ruling would have probably been reversed without Bush's 2 appointee's on the court. Thats one of the few postive things about Bush's legacy.
I suspect a lasting presence in the Middle East will be positive in the long run.

i was listening to the radio this morning. they said that D.C has banned gun ownership for over 30 years but they have the murder and crime rate in the nation.

i don't understand, if guns have been banned for so long, then how is the murder and crime rate so high.

isn't it obvious? when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.

did anybody hear the idiotic comments of the DC Mayor and the equally moronic statements of delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton?

i was being sarcastic. yeah, it's funny when you see rulings against libs on social issues. they just completely freak out. especially when it's clearly written in the constitution.

"I have always believed that the Second Amendment protects the right of individuals to bear arms, but I also identify with the need for crime-ravaged communities to save their children from the violence that plagues our streets through commonsense, effective safety measures," Obama said.
Think of the children! :disappointed:
