Gunner Kiel to transfer to Tennessee???

We've got two good QBs competing right now plus two more good ones coming in from last class. Lets concentrate on 2014 and pull a great QB from that class to build our future around. Let Gunner go somewhere else. JMHO.

Its funny that you guys really think we are all the sudden in a position to start passing on 5 star talent. Like overnight the last decade never happened and we are back in the late 90's. Give me a break, we would be lucky if this kid considers us. Take all the talent you can find to help butch win games next year. If he doesnt work out we would be in no worse shape than we are now. Bunch of delusional cry babies.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a 4 QB race when Ferguson and Dobbs get here. Idk if one of them are supposed to red shirted or not, but I'm looking forward to it

Both Ferguson and Dobbs have stated that if the coaches decide to redshirt them they are ok with that.

This can't be stated enough. He's also scared of competition which is why he has a hard time committing to a school. He's not coming here.

So you would actually want a guy who could not even win the starting job at ND? Why would we be lucky for him to consider us? Please provide proof. The only reason you're saying this is because of his 5* rating.

Need you be reminded that Manziel was a 3* recruit? When he actually commits (and stays) on a team and actually wins the starting job and wins games, he is no better than any other QB on UT's roster. Fact.

Not really. KW was all about himself and needing the attention. GK is pretty much the same way. He commits to Indiana and changes his mind, he commits to LSU and changes his mind, he commits and signs with ND and because they don't hand him the starting job he decides to leave. To me that pretty much screams "look at me and let me be the star". If he comes you can almost guarantee he transfers again if he doesn't get the starting job. I would rather take my chances with Worley, Peterman, Dobbs, or Ferguson.

Add in Mommy messing with his head on where he goes and and that he throws like he thinks - scattered. Watched him in an all star game. He couldn't read the D and couldn't hit anybody even when they were wide open. All of this tells me he is about as much of a 5* as Crompton was, and we know how that turned out.

Hey guys, this is one my first times posting on here, so take it easy on me. I dont really see why we wouldnt take Kiel. How does it hurt us? I mean even if he comes in, competes, and doesnt win the starting job then leaves, what damage does that do to the program? The only thing I would see is using up a scholarship, which i guess is understandable. But what if he has gotten his head on straight, buckles down and lives up to his potential? Then everyone would be laughing about all this. Plus, didnt a lot of you want Micheal Dyer? A guy with legit baggage, and especially with more stuff coming out now. Anyway, just my long winded opinion. GBO!

My thoughts would be that RB is an obvious position of need. Sure, we don't have a proven QB either but Kiel doesn't fix that. Michael Dyer > Gunner Kiel any day if you ask me.

My problem would be that he would be put in a leadership role as QB, even if it is 3rd string. As Bajakian and CBJ have stated, our offense will be centered around the QB... And I don't want our offense to be centered around a kid that doesn't feel as though he should have to compete to get playing time. JMO

Big difference there brother...IIRC Dyer was MVP of the NC game, and played great for the Barn all season that year as a true freshman. Kiel has done nothing but make a fool of himself so far.

I have a feeling the new staff can get him shaped up. Tons of potential just needs to tapped into.
