We will probably never know the real reason he left. I'm assuming it is for a lot more money or a better position. He was going to make $260,000 this year.
Personally, I don't hold it against him. If he can further his career and make more money somewhere else, more power to him.
I don't understand why posters think he should never try to improve his career and stay at UT be damned. Also don't understand why the hate against Tee Martin for turning us down.
I'm sure the vast majority of us would leave our current employment for a better opportunity.
