Hail to the Washington Commanders

I think with a little time and an excellent QB position coach, RGIII will do great things in the league. I'm hoping that Philly could somehow manage a trade for him or pick him up if he gets cut for some reason (dont see it happening). I think RGIII would do pretty well in Chip's offense.

I don't care who wins the job. I just want there to be some stability at the position. I really would love to see RG3 succeed. I just think he's gonna need a lot of time.

Cousins put up good yardage and TD numbers, just had all the turnovers. A lot of new qbs had that problem coming into the league, but the Redskins situation and the instant gratification of today's world is going to make it hard on any new qb. People need to realize that Andrew Luck is an anomaly. Expecting a rookie or untested quarterback to excel at all aspects of the game right away is just dumb. I think given time and the right personnel for them, both Cousins and RGIII can succeed. The problem is that both qbs need a different style of play to succeed so it will be hard for both of them to excel under the same system.

So there are rumblings that Haslett's contract is up. He signed a two year extension in '12. Hopefully that's why he wasn't technically fired. Here's to hoping he just won't be retained.

Robert Griffin III had just four touchdown passes on 214 pass attempts in 2014. Griffin had two games with four touchdown passes in his rookie year.

Some info from ESPN

On Monday, I noted the buzz surrounding comments made by Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins, who said that if he won't be given the chance to compete with Robert Griffin III for the starting gig next year, he would prefer to be traded.

If you were to draw up a short list of likely landing spots for him, if a trade were made, the Cleveland Browns would top it. Brian Hoyer proved this season that he isn't their long-term solution, Johnny Manziel somehow left more questions than answers after his rookie campaign, and offensive coordinator Kyle Shahanan has made no secret of his belief in what Cousins has to offer.

So it should come as no surprise that ESPNCleveland.com's Tony Grossi believes that Cousins "may be the Browns’ prime target among veteran quarterbacks when the team sets its offseason agenda in a few weeks."

Not really, no. He just wants there to be an open competition. I have no problems with a guy just wanting a chance.

Yeah, I can understand that, but don't go to the press about it.

Plus the reality with most of these is the team likely just refuses to trade him.

Don’t be surprised if Smith pushes hard for Wade Phillips as the defensive coordinator.

He apparently is also close with Rex Ryan. Ryan has said he doesn't want to be a DC(though I think a HC in waiting might appeal to him if Jay doesn't work out).

An interesting note:
Smith's name has popped up in a couple other jobs. According to multiple sources, Smith would have been Jon Gruden's general manager had he accepted owner Mark Davis' offer to be the Raiders' coach.

Did you know: the first known athlete to use eye-black was ‪Redskins‬ FB Andy Farkas (No. 44), who played in the NFL from 1938-1945.

NFL Scot McCloughan to be Redskins GM - ESPN

We won the post season again. This time for real. Home run hire

That's a huge get. We haven't won anything in the post season acquisition department yet. I know I (half) jokingly refer to you as a Snyder slurper, but until I see Snyder isn't pulling strings, I won't consider anyone we hire as a good pick up. We thought Allen was the man to eliminate the Snyder problem. We thought him teaming up with Shanahan would definitely eliminate the Snyder problem. We've thought tons of things would eliminate the Snyder problem. So far nothing has helped us from the Snyder problem. Not confident this does anything yet.
