Hail to the Washington Commanders

Landon Collins was a projected first rounder and didnt go, - might be a good pick

He's likely still got a bit further to fall. Being called in for that police investigation is still a pretty big deal.

Edit: also this is apparently being reported now:

LA'EL COLLINS:

If the OL is not taken in the 2nd or 3rd round tonight, he will not sign with any team and attempt to re-enter next year's draft, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Teams are shying away due to Collins being questioned about the shooting death of a pregnant woman.

Sounds to me like he is demanding to be drafted.

All I've heard about the case is she opened her front door and someone shot her. I have no idea what her situation was so idk what to think. My judgement is clouded b/c I've seen too many dateline 20/20 episodes

There's a 2015 Draft Thread for your nonsense posts

Worley still has a shot - its not nonsense -- name the last Vol QB that started more than 8 games and didnt get an NFL chance - he may not get drafted, but I am not counting him out yet. He can be a much better player with an O-line in front of him.

You are insane. Skins have had a good draft though.

I like the 2nd and 3rd round picks. Plus he added a few more picks as well. It's nice having a real GM.

Preston Smith
What he brings: He's a tough and versatile defensive end prospect with very good strength. His best attribute is as a run defender, but he's an effective power rusher, especially when moved inside to defensive tackle on passing downs. How he fits: It will be interesting to see how new defensive coordinator Joe Barry uses the versatile Smith. He projects best a defensive end in Barry's scheme based on the tape, but he's capable of lining up at outside linebacker based on the way he tested, and he's an excellent pass-rusher when he reduces inside. New general manger Scot McCloughan gets a player who bolsters the defensive front regardless of where he plays, and McCloughan has done a good job of getting better in the trenches on both sides of the ball with his first two picks.

Matt Jones
What he brings: Jones has excellent size at 6-2 and 230 pounds. He is a determined runner that possesses quality pad level, power and balance to pick up yards after contact. While he isn't a dynamic runner, Jones has quick feet, adequate lateral agility and flashes the versatility as a receiving threat to provide quality depth at the position. How he fits: Jones is a little bit of a reach here, but not by a lot and he fills a need for Washington. While Alfred Morris became the first Redskins player to rush for 1,000 in each of his first three seasons, his 4.1-yard average was lowest of career and he's entering a contract season. Plus, Roy Helu left in free agency.

I'd like to see the Skins take Clemmings and Hundley (or Shane Carden a little later).

With the 141st selection, the Redskins have selected Arkansas LB Martrell Spaight.

Lots of SEC players

From NFL.com

Day 1 grade: C+
Day 2 grade: A-
Day 3 grade: B
Overall grade: B-

The skinny: GM Scot McCloughan is one of the best evaluators in the league, but Scherff was a big reach, even if he lives up to his potential. Failing to trade down and passing on the best player in the draft (Leonard Williams) is going to be something the team might regret, even if Scherff becomes a top-flight tackle or guard. Smith is a big player who can really get up field and brings some versatility to the line as well. Jones could have a long career in the league; he does all of the little things nicely and will be a nice complement to Alfred Morris. Crowder will be RG3's best friend as a reliable option out of the slot.

Bottom line: It's pretty clear the team is beefing up in the trenches, but that caused it to bypass some more talented players.

Per ESPN, the Skins were the most improved team from the NFC East from the draft.

NFC East: Washington Redskins

I really liked the first three picks of the Giants' and Eagles' drafts. I think both teams could get some early impact out of their rookie classes. But the Redskins are my choice here because I think they got tougher on both sides of the ball. No. 5 overall pick Brandon Scherff is a nasty, tough, physical run-blocker who should start right away at right tackle. Preston Smith is a tone-setter at defensive end who should help in the run game while also providing interior rushing ability on obvious passing downs. Jamison Crowder could provide early help as a slot receiver.
