Hail to the Washington Commanders

Apparently the Skins will wear all black for their color Rush unis on Thanksgiving.

Report: Redskins Color Rush uniform combo revealed

The Redskins will host Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg on Tuesday, a source confirmed. The Redskins also met with him at the scouting combine in Indianapolis two months ago (along with Michigan State’s Connor Cook and Ohio State’s Cardale Jones). Hackenberg’s visit is the first reported one by a quarterback.

Interesting. Hackenberg was expected to be great in O'Brien's system. Supposedly had a good pro day and an awful combine. Will be interesting to see what he does in the NFL. He'll get drafted, the question is where.

With help needed in the secondary and DT, plus lots of other questionable long term areas, I hope they don't waste a second round pick on him.

Hosting that WKU QB today.

I don't see them taking a QB until at least the 4th round IMO. Too many other positions of need. I'd like to see Cardale Jones in the 6th or so.

The WKU qb would be a better fit and backup to Kirk Cousins. With RGIII gone, I don't want to have two drastically different styled qbs on the roster like that again.

According the ESPN’s Adam Schefter, to land Norman, the cost is going to be a five-year deal averaging between $14-15 million.

More power to Snyder, but is this guy really worth a 5 year deal at 15M a year? Curious as how you would personally feel about a signing like that.

He'll be 34 at the end of a 5-year deal. Good luck with that; hopefully they front-load the guaranteed money and don't owe him much after Year 2 or 3

It's not Snyders decision. I trust the GM. Culliver is recovering from a torn ACL (may be released). CB (and S) are a position of need for the Skins. Washington allowed a 47 completion % of passes at least 15 yards downfield, 26th in the NFL.

My one concern is that we have a lot of pending free agents next offseason and we don't have much cap room.

From an article on ESPN:

McCloughan always talks about what he has learned from various stops. Not rushing into free agency? A Green Bay staple. Not afraid of personalities? Seattle. One player McCloughan loved in Seattle: Richard Sherman. McCloughan was just fine taking the patient approach, so for him to pounce on Norman as he did speaks volumes. At this point, it’s about trusting a guy who has mostly made the right moves thus far in Washington.

Yeah, I'm torn on this one. I think McCloughan is a very good GM, but it's hard for me to see how $50 million guaranteed to a 28-year-old corner that had incredible players around him is a good idea.

Either way, though, Washington is certainly better than they were yesterday. That defense was already great against the run, so Norman could be the missing piece they need.

Still have to think they need to target a good S in the draft, don't think Norman alone shores up the entire unit.

I'm ecstatic about the deal. 34 isn't awful. Some of y'all are comparing it to 39. We've struggled in the secondary since Taylor's death. We've vastly improved and we still have the draft.

By the way, how nice does it feel to actually know we have the draft to look forward to for a change?

Totally agree.

It kind of is for a corner. That position demands more athleticism than probably any other; there are very few NFL corners over the age of 31 or 32. I agree on the rest though

Is still only 34 at the end of the contract. Quit talking like he's 34 right now
