Yes, my half breed Beagle / Timber wolf mix is very sensitive and does have some command of the English language. He will be deeply offended if any form of Wolves is used as a team nickname. It would disrespect him. Seriously, we live in a world where a few will be offended by something. We have become a nation that is spineless.

Sometimes I wonder if people realize that they're arguing in favor of the name Redskins. Maybe take a step back
I’m native. I don’t GAF. Hell, you want my number? We can FaceTimeNo because people don’t actually understand what that term means and how a significant portion of Native Americans feel about that word because they’ve been taught Native Americans don’t matter.
I find it funny how the term isn’t offensive, yet not one single person who has argued for the name would dare go to a Native American and call them a “redskin” to their face. I wonder why that is
What people fail to understand is the nickname was used ( in the team context) not as a insult but as admiration for I dian culture and pride. A team would not use a nickname to represent the team in an insulting way.Sometimes I wonder if people realize that they're arguing in favor of the name Redskins. Maybe take a step back
The woke culture will probably make a lot of noise if the nickname has any military references. It sounds like the head coach (Rivera) wants the franchise to incorporate the military into its new name.
Granted, he’s likely not going to be given as much of an input on this matter (being an NFL head coach rather than a GM, President, Owner, other major front office position, etc) but it’s an interesting starting place for ideas.
What is ironic is the name change narrative was being driven by non-Indians. About ten years ago a poll was reported that a strong majority of Indians were not offended by the name. The woke movement is not great in numbers but extremely noisy in today’s world. No because people don’t actually understand what that term means and how a significant portion of Native Americans feel about that word because they’ve been taught Native Americans don’t matter.
