I didn't catch the ending explanation of why the Redskins appeared to get a Colorado esque 5th down. What exactly happened? I thought the game was over after the incomplete pass.
Either way, the Redskins found a way to lose.

The announcers were idiots. The Skins didn't get a 5th down

I think I'm finally gonna have to ditch the Skins this off-season.......I just can't take it any longer
It seems like every recap article on the game isn't mentioning this. I hope the NFL admits this tomorrow and punishes these officials. Big thumbs down to every media outlet that left the 5 downs out of their stories. 12-3=9!
Thanks to confusion in the FOX announcing booth, viewers watching Sunday's game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Redskins thought a potential game-tying touchdown occurred on an extra "fifth" down.

+1000. ive been a life long fan, i was born there. i thought things would be different this year, a new coach, one that has won a super bowl and knows what he is doing. but here we are again, one of the worse teams in the NFL. this is getting ridiculous, year after year, new coach, same result. i think after all this time, after all these years, im finally done. there is no hope in sight, not at least from what i can see. time to finally hang up my fandom for the skins.:cray:

I dont want Mallett, I think he is Heath Shuler 2.0
QB isnt really our problem. I would be happy using our 1st round on Newton, but we need some help on the DL and OL and RB and WR. Orakpo needs a partner
Newton is Mcnabb 2.0, imo
Don't do it. ....Even though I know you wont.
If Lions fans can hang on in the face of futility, so can you. I'm looking for our first lombardi, your team has 3.
.....deal.
2. The offensive line has done a solid job protecting quarterback Donovan McNabb the past two weeks » The consecutive losses can't be pinned on them, even if they allowed four sacks vs. the New York Giants. But against the Giants they gave McNabb plenty of time to throw and Sunday they created numerous cutback lanes and huge holes for running back Ryan Torain, at least in the first half. They still struggle against strong defensive tackles, so upgrades remain necessary and RT Jammal Brown's mobility is still an issue. But give them credit for improved play.
3. The Redskins draft classes from 2007-09 are a big reason why this team continues to struggle » Washington had 21 picks in those three seasons combined, and only two of those selections are considered front-line starters -- safety LaRon Landry and linebacker Brian Orakpo. And only one other player is currently a starter -- struggling free safety Kareem Moore. Only nine players even remain with the organization (with two of them on injured reserve and another on the practice squad). It's impossible to have more than fleeting success with such a record.
4 As well as running back Ryan Torain has played this season, it's hard to get excited about his future because he still has to prove he can stay healthy » It's a shame, too, because he's now averaging 4.9 yards per carry and has shown a lot of promise. He's big enough to break arm tackles at the line and he's doing a nice job of pressing the hole, planting and cutting. He had several such cuts Sunday, leading to big gains. Torain is a much better runner than he was in the summer, and it would be interesting to see how good he could be if he stayed healthy for an extended period of time.
