Halloween Thread

for not giving them a Snickers or Reeses ?
When it comes to Halloween, the sense of entitlement among the young’uns is Strong.

Edit to add: the lamer the costume + the older the kid, the grumpier the reaction.

It’s fun when my younger daughter is in town. She led the UT Law mock court team to Nationals. Any 14-year-old showing up without a costume and with an attitude can expect to get seriously grilled!

About 2/3 of the way up with the lights. We should finish the rest + get up the skellingtons, ghouls, and whatnot tomorrow. Against my vehement protests, the damn ghost is back up.

Went to Tar-Zhay and bought the rest of the candy. 1,900-sumthin individual candies so far. (There has been some quality testing on the Baby Ruths.) If they turn out in the usual numbers, we’ll run out early, with one candy per kid.

Lil barstidges had better come! I’ll gain 30# by Christmas if we’re stuck with all this candy.

1900 tricker treaters???? Serially?
2,200+ last year. I know this because that’s how much candy I bought, and I gave one piece per kid. Even the chitty candy.

Kinda hoping for less this year, because the original organizers seemed to vanish, and there’s no FB updates, street barriers, or police presence, and a lot of houses are still dark at night (people out of town.) We have no idea what to expect. 😵‍💫

Note: I am cereally stocking up on wine!
