Hamilton says Pearl will be retained even if NCAA suspends Pearl for a year

Just said on "The Drive" with Dave Hooker that they have a plan in place for all scenarios, including a one-year suspension and that Pearl would be retained in that scenario. Hamilton says he believes that the letter of allegations will be delivered in the next few weeks and the meeting with the infractions committee will be in the late winter or early spring. He said the ruling should come down late in the spring or more likely next summer.

I bet the "Come play for a substitute teacher for a year" approach would really play well to elite talent. That is as stupid an idea as anyone has come up with at UT since the BOT thought Wade Gilley was the perfect president.

Why do you fire a guy who has made the program better every year since he has been here. 5 straight years on NCAA tournement runs. You know what you have with Pearl. Fire him and hire someone else is like sticking your weenie in a hole in a truckstop bathroom stall. There is absolutely no telling what will happen. Theres no sign of what happened with Pearl affecting our program, other than what the NCAA will hand down. Even if you fire Pearl, your still stuck with that crap. Recruiting is fire, and once this blows over, things will be the same.
