Hamilton says Pearl will be retained even if NCAA suspends Pearl for a year

You are asking too much of the crowd dense enough to buy Pearl's act. We know having been off the road for two years won't hurt recruiting. Look at the wonders going to Israel instead of being at the summer tournaments did.

He lost one recruit to a vastly superior program. No surprise there.

No, champ. He said he would be off the recruiting trail for two years. So, let's take it one step at a time. He's off the recruiting trail this year. That's one. Then, if he's suspended, he'd be off the recruiting trail for another year. That's two years.
It's pretty telling commentary on the intelligence of the average Pearlophile that this level of remedial explanation of a simple concept is needed.

Hat, do you think this is just Hamilton trying to downplay things, or would we really keep Pearl?

I feel like keeping Pearl in that situation would be like our basketball program waving a white flag.

He can recruit this year as long as he stays on campus and doesnt become excessive. Only time will tell if he cant pull recruits on campus.

If they keep him under those hypothetical circumstances, UT's next step should be to drop basketball as a varsity sport. If there's only one guy on the planet who can properly run your program, you don't have a program.

I support winners. Im sorry that hatvol96 wont let you.

I support the Tennessee basketball program. That's why I don't want our head coach to be off recruiting for two year. Coaches have already tried to steer recruits away from Pearl. You think it will be any easier once they can point to this?

Hopefully our new president will hire an athletic director who feels the same way.

Why would he do that? Why would UT want an athletic director that actually has faith in his school's ability to compete? We're much better off with a bean counter who believes it's all cult of personality and a single coach is much bigger than the program.

No one knows if Pearl will succeed in recruiting this season. or how this team will finish. You've stated your position several times and sometimes its not correct.

The negavols' hatred towards Bruce affects thier ability to rationalize their ideas.

Do you think he really believes that, Hat? Or he just knows his ass is gone if Pearl has to be fired?

When trying to discern what Mike Hamilton is thinking, I decide what the most ridiculous possible option is. Then, I assume that's what he's thinking.

In what way am I a negavol? Tell me. I get called that a lot, but I'm apparently one of the few who believes the baskeball program can be successful without Pearl? Doesn't that make me optimistic?

Disappointing to hear our basketball program is taking on the role of the battered wife.

Bruce took UT's farm-shed basketball program to another level. Something no one else has been either able or willing to do.

You expected anything better out of our fanbase? Hell, Fulmer was allowed to turn UT into Kentucky South before people finally dropped the slobbering sycophant act with him.

George Washington took America to another level, and we see how poorly that turned out, so I can see your point.

Just think how awful things would be here if Dickey had listened to Larry Brown and hired Bill Self instead of Jed Green?
