Happy Birthday Rod Wilks

Who was the poster? And what year?

I have no idea.

Anyone could be "that guy" next - some hack scout type (or a relative of the player) hyping up a local kid beyond realistic expectations.

Guy who gets on here raving about how player X is going to be the second coming of whomever is setting themselves, and everyone else, up for deflation.

It's not a knock on Wilks. Think of it as preventive maintenance.

Don't hate the player. Hate the game.

Why continue to downgrade a kid that tried his best under 4 different coaching staffs? So an optimistic VN poster said he was the next Jerry Rice, so what. At least he got some PT

You can get your number retired...or you could be Rod Wilks. It is all in good fun and I would bet that he is ok with being a "legend" of some sorts on fan sites.

When Rod Wilks cashes a check, the bank bounces.

Through out elementary school I was the "fat" kid in class and took a lot of crap. Rod was I my class throughout my years in Smyrna and he was one of the few who didn't pick on me. I can tell fro m personal experience he is a class act. Happy Birthday Rod and thank you for your contribution to not only UT football but Rutherford County football. Also for making elementary school easier for me. You don't know how hard it is going through school as the "fat" kid until you deal with the harassment they get. Thank you for being a class act and not being a bully Rod

We're standing on the shoulders of giants. One of them is named Rod Wills.

We're standing on the shoulders of giants. They're chillin at Rod's place.

We're standing on the shoulders of giants. Rod gave them a boost.

Rod stands on the shoulders of midgets. Sees further than us.
