Harbaugh To Michigan - Updated - It's official (merged)

Stanford's admission standards rival the competition UT faces on the recruiting trail. If you're going to argue that it's easier to turn a 1-11 Stanford team into a BCS participant than a 5-7 UT team, I'm not even going to bother engaging in that.

It's best that you don't.

Like I said Stanford beat 1 ranked team (at home) that year. When will UT ever play a schedule that easy? They wont.

Im not dismissing what hes accomplished, I've acknowledged hes a good coach. I just think you need to pump the breaks on him being this ELITE world beater. You seem to think its a forgone conclusion he will win multiple titles at UM...im saying im not sold on that.

And I'll pump the brakes on whether Butch can actually accomplish anything on his own rather than following in the footsteps of a national championship level coach at every previous stop.

From reports, Harbaugh will be making a base salary in his contract of $5 mil per year, the same base he made in his contract with the 49ers.

And lost.

Actually he beat the dog-**** out of VT in the Orange Bowl when he was at Cincy and lost to UF in the Sugar Bowl. Everyone with a mind knows the Big East was the worst BCS conference in the country and no one expected them to win many of those games.

So you're now arguing that losing BCS bowls is worse than not making one in the first place? Cincy never represented the Big East as conference champs under Butch.

So now top 5 recruiting "titles" are as relevant as actual wins?

He outrecruited Kelly at Cincy, yet couldn't win a Big East title while Kelly played in two BCS bowls.

You said he "hadn't accomplished anything on his own." You didnt say wins.

Why dont you just go root for ND or UM? You are clearly more of a fan of them then you are of UT.

Co-conference Champs. Twice under CBJ. I guess its a knock on CBJ that the Big East doesn't have a conference championship game. Am I right?

Because I realize UT is bigger than Butch and refuse to genuflect and sign myself with the VFL sign doesn't make me a ND fan or UM. It makes me a UT fan.

So many fail to see there's a difference. When Butch retires, gets fired or leaves for elsewhere I won't care about him. My fandom lies with my alma mater not a coach who came because we offered him a better job. I'll support Butch while he's here and hope he wins, I won't walk blindly around in a sea of orange if things aren't improving.

You are wasting your time discussing anything with boy wonder. He clearly enjoys arguing more than a 10 year old girl

You might want to double check that.

You are correct about the Sugar bowl, although he left prior to the game that would have made him 0-4 vs SEC.

Let's just mention one big fact; Butch coaches in the SEC. He's had 16 more opportunities to face SEC opponents than BK.

FTR, I don't think Kelly is an elite coach. But anyone who nitpicks at Kelly and Harbaugh's resumes while lauding Butch's isn't playing with a full deck.

You're right, I mixed up VT's loss to KU in the Orange Bowl with when they faced Cincy. VT has lost so many BCS bowls I can't keep them straight.

You're the one who credited all of CBJs success to following a national championship coach at 2 of 3 stops. I'm simply pointing out that BC isn't a NC caliber coach, yet.

Plus CBJ beat an SEC team while at UC, Kelly lost to KY once while at UCM.
