I booked a tee time for the Tuesday following the PGA's tournament at Harbour Town.

Give me your thoughts on this course. What should I expect? I am a bogey golfer on "regular" golf courses. I can go low to mid 80s and I can go over 100 on any given day at any given course.

What are the cool souvenirs?

Just cut a flag off the pin. Wait until 17 so you don't miss much.

I've played it once. In December. I'm not an impartial opinion though, I despise the designer!

If you are a bogey golfer, do yourself, and everyone else on the course that day, a favor and play the whites. It is a tight tough course with lots of trouble if you can not stay in the fairways. Plus the fact that the rough will be trampled down after the tourney. It will be more enjoyable for you if you play the shorter tees.
Take your camera in your bag. You will want to get shots of 17 and 18. Especially the 18th with the lighthouse in the background.
The "take your wallet" comment is in response to your souvenir comment. NOTHING in the pro shop is cheap.
Have fun.

Very tight, and some fairways leave you no shot. Greens will likely be the smallest you've ever played and will be very, very quick. If the wind blows, and it likely will, place can be mean.

I love the course, but it fits many of my strengths. If I were choosing on Hilton Head, I'd look hard at any of the Palmetto Dunes courses or Haig Point.

You really think you're going to get out of there just paying for the tee time?

Nope. I have to tip the caddie and I will probably buy a hat. That will be it.

Yes, I am planning on playing it from the 6000 yard tees.

I may buy a hat but that will be all I buy.

Work on hitting a few knockdowns before you go. And putt on a tile floor to practice. If the wind blows like normal, the place can cause you fits. But enjoy the scenery.

Compared to most courses bogey golfers play, it's going to seem like that for him.

My club has some of the fastest greens I've played, especially in East TN. It's always embarrassing to see guys blow a fifteen footer 40 feet by.

If u aren't ready for the speed it can be a nightmare. Turn a good ball striking round into a disaster.

Especially after you explode that first one. Gets to the point where you're afraid to breathe on one.

Eek. I play on a fairly well maintained, but cheap, public. Might get out on River Highlands 2x a year if the money and time planets align.

Two days after the pros play is probably the worst time for an average golfer to play a PGA set up/quality course. Sounds romantic to say that you are playing right after a tourney, but it will be hell. The rough will still be thick and the fairways even more narrow than usual. Pray for a calm day or take lots of Top Rocks.

That is one thing I am looking forward too is to see just how fast the greens are a couple of days after the pros play.

Only brand new Pro V1 X's here......just kidding. I will have several dozen balls in the bag. I like to hit the Maxfli Noodle's and Top Flight Gamers.

Would like to know how many of the comments come from people that don't play golf or the ones that take 12 mulligans and shoot an 85.

When I say I play bogey golf, I play it down and putt it out.

I am honestly expecting to shoot a legit 105-110 on this course. That is high, I know.
