He won't be carrying the bag. He is a forecaddie. The recommended tip is $25, I plan to probably give him $40. Just reading up on what forecaddies are, if I am paired with other golfers we all get the same forecaddie.Always take care of the caddie. I caddied at Spring Creek Ranch in Collierville Tennessee in college. Nothing sucks worse than carrying around a cart bag for 18 holes in August in Memphis.

They also have walking caddies available, the recommended tip for them is $60 and I am supposed to request this when the tee time was made.
How many rounds was you able to caddie on a good day during the summer?Correct. Forecaddies are placed with one group, and will usually stay one shot ahead of the group spotting balls for them. They will also help with yardages and reading greens. $40 is a good tip for a forecaddie. When I was a walking caddy I would get anywhere from $80-$100 per round. My regulars would tip more.
Both are nice, just depends on what you want. Arthur Hills is on the island off US 278, a better design and tends to be pricier. HHN is just off the island, more wide open and is more of a value type pick.Just over a week away. I am thinking of making a tee time at either Hilton Head National or Arthur Hills. The are both priced within a couple of dollars of each other.
Which would you recommend between these two?
I walked the course during the 1st round of the Heritage today. Fairways are tight and there are lots of high limbs and branches overhanging fairways that require you to redirect your shot.
The "rough" here was better than most courses I've ever played on. Additional problems are all the pine straw and, oh yeah, a little water here and there and everywhere.
Really hot today and I don't recall a breeze at all until just before the storm.
18 seemed to be about a mile long and impossible. I didn't get to see a single lick hit on 18, but just seeing it in person after all these years of seeing it on tv was worth the price of admission.
By the way, weirdest thing. I walk up to entrance of course and there was no one there to take my ticket. I just walked on in. Sea Pines is more heavily fortified than the White House, but no one manning entrance to the tournament gate.

Either of you got an extra pass for Sunday? I have been thinking about coming to see the final round. We will be in town on Saturday sometime. That's why the Heritage is great. It's the most laid back atmosphere on planet Earth. I spent all day meandering from shady spot to shady spot with intermittent mixed drinks. Spent most of the day behind the 9th green and between the 10th and 16th. It was just too hot to follow anybody for very long.
I probably walked past you a dozen times. That's what is so great about the Heritage. With minimal walking you can see 1, 9, 10, 16, 17, 18 and never be more than about 100 yards from something to drink or a restroom.I was around hole 9 and 10 most of the day today as well. Then hung out at 18 for a bit.
