Harris Talks BBM, Visits.

Leslie's certainly a possiblity, although I'm not sure UK is sold on giving him a spot. I find it hard to believe Gilchrist or Yacoubou would cut their recruitment this short.

Leslie and Yacoubou would seem most likely tempted, but like you said UK has guys higher on their board right now

We will not get any verbals tonight. Irving is there for the hell of it, pretty sure he is Duke bound. Harris and family are to grounded to make a rash decision like that. They have stated already that they will probably not announce until November sometime. I don't think UK is the leader for him anyway.

The biggest thing UK can accomplish tonight is securing front runner status for Leslie (which we are, from what I hear) and Yacoubou.

Above all this is continuing the good relationship with Gilchrist, who has been considered a strong UK lean for a while now.

I can say with extreme confidence that the UK staff is becoming very concerned about Villanova where Gilchrist is concerned. I can say with the same amount of confidence that their concern is warranted.

i was going to edit my post and add that Villanova is certainly a player. I read where he seems to be waffling back and forth, back and forth between the two. Jay Wright certainly makes a good pitch. Some say that even though he has 2 years left of recruiting, that he is thinking of deciding fairly soon. I hope his visit tonight helps to reaffirm his original statement/thought of playing for Cal.

I'd be utterly shocked if UK gets a commitment out of Irving or Harris tonight.
I don't know about Irving but Harris strikes me as a very intelligent, well-spoken young man. I just don't see him committing anywhere based strictly on an emotional decision. I think he has thoroughly researched all the teams still in it for him, and he will go to the school that is going to best utilize his talents. I HOPE THAT TURNS OUT TO BE TENNESSEE.

Harris just wrote on his Facebook that he had a great time up there.

We’ve all witnessed stranger occurrences on the recruiting front.
Not many. Irving choosing to pass on those options to play for Hewitt would rate right up there with Allan Houston spurning Louisville to come play for his father on the Scale Of Illogical Decisions.

Or it could be similar to Javaris Crittenton and Thaddeus Young spurning every college coach in the country to go play for Hewitt.

Look how great that's turned out for them.

I believe both are in the league making a substantial amount of money.

Regardless-- that's not the point, Hat. Do you have to redirect the argument every time you're proven wrong? I'd like to hear you admit, just once, that you're wrong.

How am I wrong? You cite a guy who has already played for about half the teams in the NBA and a third or fourth option on mediocre Philadelphia teams in support of the propostion that playing for Hewitt isn't a fool's errand. If Irving would rather follow Crittendon than Rose or Evans, he's not bright. Period.

It's proven that Hewitt has landed several recruits that could've played for Cal or Coach K. Bright or not, Kyrie and Tobias could end up there.

I'm not saying they will, but it's a legitimate possibility.
