I've only seen two of the movies (one being the first part of DH), but I loved the books. I've read DH twice, and listened to the audiobook once.
If anyone has to stare at a cpu screen all day while working, I suggest that you look up harry potter audio books on youtube. I went through the entire series on there just with youtube minimized. The narrator is outstanding.

i downloaded all the books through bit torrent and they are great. i've listened to them a bunch. easy to listen them while i work.

I've heard it's really, really good. Never seen any of the movies or read any of the books, but since I have some time off I might watch the rest then go see the new one.

Was it not good?

if the books didnt exist, it would've been fantastic. too much left out, especially during the final showdown.

it was still a great movie...books ruin everything.

I really hope this isn't a 3D showing in IMAX that I'm waiting for... 3D makes me sick and it wasn't billed as 3D, but they handed out glasses. Hm...

It's gotten excellent reviews so far. Higher than any of the other films.

I have heard that the ending is sub-par compared to the book, though.

I'm going to say this is going a bit far. They're good, but some of the best ever?

I can't think of a better series, and if there are modern books among the best books ever, the 7th HP has to be at or near the top of the list.

This was definitely the best movie in the series as well.

I haven't even read the books and thought the final battle sucked. They should have hired Michael Bay for that single scene.

To put things in perspective, though, alot of people hated how the final battle/duel went down in the book. Not sure how different it is in the movie, and i'm not going to spoil anything, but a bunch of people thought it was anticlimactic in the novel.

I have to agree with those people in this case. It probably has a bit to do with the way Rowling made Harry's character.
