I want to get the facts straight.

He wants to have a face to face before he makes the offer?
That's like telling Megan Fox you have to see her in person before you buy her picture in playboy! We have seen her in action enough to know what we are getting.
Borderline Incompetent IMO Your thoughts?

I'm glad we don't have a moron that would offer a coach who has never been a college head coach a contract without going over a list of things. You don't tie up 6+ million dollars in someone just because their name is Jon Gruden. There are variables that must be addressed.

ever heard of Skype? in response to Tvols, I think is is extremely important to make sure he knows you are extremely interested and pro-active in getting him

Nice!! I think people just think money falls off trees at the UT athletic offices. Hire that man, off name alone, dont worry about the cost. The Megan Fox thing was on the animal this afternoon.

I'm recycling.... here's what I said today on another post....

I want to believe that some type of announcement "might" be made after Dec. 4th. According to reports...."The annual National Football Foundation awards ceremony and Hall of Fame induction on Dec. 4 is a de-facto convention of college coaches and administrators. Hart and several UT representatives are expected to be at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York for the induction of former UT coach Phillip Fulmer. From there, they can schedule interviews with candidates without having to worry about clandestine plane trips being tracked on message boards."

Rumors are running rampant from Gruden being offering part ownership in the Cleveland Browns to Gruden saying "no" to UT to heaven knows what.... He has indicated no one has contacted to ask him if he's interested. Whether that's true or just media spin, regardless, we need a coach!

Seems Arkansas is going after LSU's Les Miles and have offered him mega bucks...

I sure hope an announcement happens soon as I agree with the poster who said if this is delayed much longer, we won't have a chance at any of the top ranked recruiting potentials.

Sorry about the recycled post but I thought it summed up my thoughts....:D

The Megan Fox comment is mine, not on the Animal , and I am not saying that a sit down is not crucial before hiring, but you can get a long way over the phone and through Skype

glad we don't have moron fans running the hiring... we dealt with a moron during the last hire and we don't need another one. Hart needs to take all the time he needs and make a quality hire. I don't care about the current players wants, desires, etc. or the incoming class. If Hart does it right and hires the right coach... we will not have a problem with recruits or the product on the field.

If he's not willing for you to fly down and talk to him on your own dime, then what makes you think he would be ok with just getting on skype? You are extremely naive if you don't think a phone call has taken place.

Hart has to stop playing around and start finding a proven guy, Gruden is not comimg to the college level, Go get TCU, Patterson, hell right now I'd take Jim Tressell , look at Ohio State this year, yes he got into trouble but HE PAID HIS FINE..
