Harvard vs Princeton @ Yale

It completely contradicts what hat said about Amaker crapping all over the standards of the Ivy's.

Unless Penn, Princeton, and Cornell are all crapping on the standards of the Ivy's as well, then Amaker is doing nothing wrong at Harvard. If they are all crapping on the standards of the Ivy's, then the standards of the Ivy's have changed, either way, Amaker is doing nothing wrong. Kinda like when Bear started recruiting black players and the rest of the league followed suit.

 I see that you still haven't bothered to actually READ the article.

Just stay out of topics about which you clearly know nothing. You also continue to post like you know Pearl's fate vis a vis the HC position at UT and you obviously haven't the first clue.

As a result of his continued success in recruiting wars, two schools of thoughts have developed among college basketball fans:

#1: Where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Harvard sold its soul by hiring a coach desperate to win immediately and get back to major-college basketball by any means possible.

#2: Amaker is an aggressive recruiter that is acting like any coach from a BCS conference and the Ivy League just isn’t used to it.

I choose answer #2. And judging by his recruiting class this season, the other Ivy's are doing the same thing.

when have I ever posted that I know he will be back. I assert my opinion that he will be back because it would have been foolish to keep him through all this just to fire him after the season. I have never said I have any inside information regarding cbp.

You've said it like it's not opinion and it's wrong. Get over it. Timing if the information and unique UT / UTAD circumstances led to the timeline, not some commitment that you might have in your mind.

Wonderful. If you choose #2 (Amaker is an aggressive recruiter that is acting like any coach from a BCS conference and the Ivy League just isn’t used to it), then you are agreeing with Hat's original assertion:

"You have to love a guy who craps all over the standards of the Ivy and still can't win."

Been to Cambridge? Think those on high give a crap if he wins if he has to slimeball to do it?

I'll assure you it has been more controversial than you think.

I disagree that he is crapping on the standards if the other schools are recruiting the same players. Unless hat wants to say that the coaches at Cornell, Penn, and Princeton are all crapping on the standards, in which case, I guess I would be forced to agree. But as it stands now, he isn't doing anything the other teams trying to win the Ivy aren't also doing.

Secondary violations do not amount to crapping on standards.

Aren't you the guy who actually suggested Amaker as a possible candidate for the UT job? Maybe this whole stupid debate could have been avoided if you you realized he was a train wreck at Michigan. Surely you didn't know that when you suggested him.

I put him on my list of 5 that I'd want to interview, and he's still on that list. A good coach who is going to get some looks this offseason whether you all like it or not. If he doesn't get any looks from a major this year, I will eat crow.

He's a crappy coach, and anyone paying attention knows that. He was bad at Seton Hall and he was bad at Michigan. Hiring him would be like hiring Dan Hawkins.

Seton Hall was a train wreck after some of the stuff that went on there... I know Michigan had enough of him as well and even though it woulda have been nice to see Harvard in there just not with him coaching them
