So, he didn't actually poison the trees, but he was hoping to get busted for the phone call and was willing to pay a $500-600 fine in order to get a fleeting moment of attention for a crime he didn't actually commit?

Seems like he has multiple personalities...the gentle old man who is denying the crime and then the crazy bama fan who thinks what he did was justified and admits he did it.:crazy:
