He sat by and watched as our football program slipped into mediocrity, and them after one season where UT backed into the SECCG, rewarded Fulmer for his mediocrity with a rediculous 7 year contract that said not only was 8 wins a year good enough at UT, it is worthy of both a raise and extension.

Then, realizing the error of his ways, he was forced to fire Fulmer one year into the contract and pay an absurd buyout over the next several years. Somehow, he then managed to get not only Lane Kiffin, but an all-star staff to come and replace Fulmer. Too bad all these guys got offered a better gig one year into the rebuilding project. Even though it was well known that Kiffin would likely bolt for USC if offered the job (even though most thought he would never be offered), Hamilton had absolutely no backup plan in the unlikely event that it did happen. Sadly, it did, and Hamilton was forced to hire a coach who couldn't even win in the WAC and is now in completely over his head in the SEC after several other candidates turned him down.

Add the pathetic state of our baseball program to this mix, and I can't see any way he keeps his job if Pearl has to be fired. That hire is the only leg he has to stand on with regards to hiring personnel, and while his fundraising has been outstanding, there's more to the job than just raising money. I would even advocate letting him stay on in some sort of fundraising position, but someone else needs to take charge of the hiring and firing of coaches at the school.

Comparing the current climate of bb at UT to the past is beyond stupid.

A $2 million a year salary, renovated arena, upgraded facilities and proof that it can happen at UT will most defnitely attract a good coach. Plus the added benefit of not having a moron AD who hated basketball. Anyone that states we will be back to Wade Houston or Buzzball has the IQ of a rock.

If people were expecting a win yesterday, that is on them. This team is a little bit below average at best. I expect atleast 10 losses this year, including a first round loss in the NCAA's . This team is back to where it was pre-Pearl. He needs to go ahead and get fired, or quit one. What a joke this team has turned out to be.

I think this is all blown out of proportion by the NCAA. Bruce lied and gets burned by it. He came back like 3 hours later and apologized and told the truth about players we didn't even get. How many times do you see coaches lie and just keep on doing it? Calipari gets away with Wall scoring like a 16 on the ACT which can't even get in school with that and I know calipari lies alot. It's just stupid it's a dang lie not murder. Sure let Newton get away with hiding $250000 and getting paid. And don't give me that crap "he didn't know" I'm pretty dang you're gonna know about contact with other schools and you're dad having that money. Let's just burn Pearl and worry about football which isn't very good. Tell you the truth the basketball season always excites me more than football and I don't wanna see Jerry Green days again

What does Calipari have to do with Wall's ACT score? Was John a proctor at the test? Did he or any of his staff take it?

The difference between Cal and BP is Cal is way too smart to have anything directly connected to him.

Some people refuse to acknowledge this. I love Bruce as much as the next guy, but to say we will go back to missing the tournament consistently is a joke. We have one of the richest athletic departments in the nation. We have put a TON of money into the basketball program. This program will not die with the firing of Bruce Pearl. I hope he stays, but some of you have no grasp on what has happened in the past 6 years.

That's the other thing that dissappoints me about Pearl. We all know the rules as crap. But the successful programs have a system that let's them cheat on the downlow. I bet they be playing mindgames with recruits into not telling stuff. You just can't come out and and tell recruits not to talk. Just shows how stupid Pearl is. Also you see how the ncaa looks after some teams. Ut is never on the good list. That's part of the AD job is to keep good relations. SO Hamilton fails in that too.

wait, what? You're saying it's Hamilton's fault we can't cheat and get away with it? None of this would have happened if Pearl hadn't lied! He would have gotten away with the "cheating" free and clear but couldn't recognize his own couch in a photo.

and we were on the good list as long as we were winning and bringing in money. That's what gets you some leeway not an AD who can sweet talk the NCAA.

They also don't acknowledge Doug Dickey isn't the AD anymore, the one that hired the bozos that made the program a joke. The only one he got right was O'Neil, and he ran him off.

You're having a down year. Stop pretending that doesn't happen to damn near every program. N. Carolina missed the tourney recently.

If Pearl ends up fired over this deal, Hamilton will not be the one finding the new coach. Hamilton will get canned as well.

Then the question becomes..."who is the new AD?" like it or not probably Phil Fulmer!!!

I can never understand how a team beats teams they are 'posed to lose to, and get beat by the teams they are 'posed to beat. This is a frustrating

This team plays to the level of the competition. Unfortunately, they can't seem to beat the worst teams on their schedule. Every game is a toss up with this team.
