what is the wifi sense and what's the problem with it?

WiFi Sense enables all of your contacts to be able to access your wifi, without having to get a password for it. Its not necessarily going to work, without setting it up properly, by its a security risk, an a big one at that. Contacts that can access it include Facebook, Outlook, and other contacts. Just make sure its disabled.

I upgraded. I didn't hate Windows 8.1 so much, but so far I like Windows 10 better. But honestly it's not like it's a huge change.

Plus I don't really get into the whole Mac/Windows crap. I've worked with both and I wouldn't make a big deal for either. I can get my work done with either.

If all manufactures would stop shipping out machines with crappy software installed, it would save me a lot of time in configuration. Also turning off UEFI and Secure Boot would be awesome too!

I'm not talking about bloatware. They shipped legit malware.

Also you should be utilizing UEFI and Secure Boot.

The only thing I've noticed is after I close my laptop and then reopen it, coming out of sleep mode it seems to run a lot slower.

So far, so good. The upgrade was amazingly smooth. All apps seem to have taken it in stride. Much, much better than 8.

who has tried it yet and is it worth upgrading from Wins7 Pro ?

I've thought about doing the upgrade but know nothing about it

I would like to get it,just because it is newer, has Windows done a upgrade to it yet ? I know I was told to wait and see if they issue a Service Pack for it first or a major upgrade

just asking,i have no plans to be in a hurry about it,but I do like the idea of a free upgrade

I'm thinking about doing the upgrade, just because it is newer, the refurbed computer I bought did come with wins7 pro installed,of course I was happy with Wins XP,so that tells you how much i need a new operating system

but I don't want to miss out on a free upgrade either,I do like the sound of free lol so install it now or wait a bit first ?

Yeah the forum search feature is sketchy at best on these vBulletin forums. I've found the best way to search is using google. Search for a thread topic+volnation.

Look at that, I could have sworn I started a Windows 10 thread myself and there it is. So there are a total of 3 Windows 10 threads now. :)

Using quiotes works well. Like searching for "Windows 10". But Google probably works well also.

so has Micro Soft issued a service pack for Wins 10 yet or a major upgrade ? I'm just waiting on them to do that and then I think I will install Wins10

I have a 2.8 ghz dual core processor and 8 gigs of memory on a PC,I assume that will work just fine with Wins 10 ?

I've probably all ready asked that too :)

I do hate to miss out on a freebie,MicroSoft doesn't do that often

We've had 3 computers come in the past week with people upgrading to Windows 10, and 2 of the 3 had to be rolled back because of major stability issues. The other one was a complete format back to Windows 7. From what we've seen its about 50/50 with doing the upgrade and having no problems.

I wouldn't recommend anyone running an older pc or laptop to upgrade to Windows 10. I've seen laptops pass the Windows 10 specification test only to have the laptop run like hell when Windows 10 was finally installed.

this is what I have and it is a refurbished one

I have a 2.8 ghz dual core processor and 8 gigs of memory on a PC, it is a HP and that was a deal coug,I think you were the one that said to get a refurbished one, can't beat it for the price,it pretty much does what I want it to

I do need to get a video card for it,the on board video is crap, that and i need a HD one for the TV, not that I will probably need it much, I need one that will run my monitor and TV,with out having to change settings when I switch back and forth

Yup. If you do the upgrade, at least get it cloned over to a SSD after.
