That by itself ... is a big deal. Of course, it's not Georgia's fault that the Oklahoma game was cancelled. Nevertheless, it is a soft schedule.
I’ve already given your schedule props for playing Bama in Tuscaloosa. It’s appreciated that this is a tough game. I have already agreed that this game should absolutely be more tough than playing at Jordan Hare. But if we are going to look at toughest road game between our respective teams than I’ll say GA has the toughest road test. We play you guys at Neyland. 3 years ago I’d say big deal, but today???

Gimme a break, at this point we are the reason your schedule isn’t considered basically as weak as ours. You know it’s true

The only thing worth discussing is the non conference schedule. The SEC schedule is what it is every year and only looks weak or strong based on what kind of cycle a particular team is in. For instance, playing Tennessee next year in Knoxville looks like a bear of a game for anyone, whereas 5 years ago it would be penciled in as a dub by many teams.

2024 Schedule is the toughest in the SEC per the pundits.

Yeah ... but we're talking about Georgia's 2023 schedule in this thread.

Georgia's only true road games (which excludes Florida in Jax), until they go to Tennessee on November 18th, are against Auburn and Vanderbilt.

Those first 7 games might comprise the softest first half of a season, by an SEC team, that I've ever seen - unless Auburn exceeds expectations - which is not impossible.

.... they even get a bye before going to Jax to play Florida.

Who will step up and beat them ?
You never know what the Ohio State vs Michigan winner will be capable of ... The Buckeyes almost had 'em last year. And there is always Alabama to think about.

However, because they will be playing so few competitive games (I really think Tennessee will be the only one), it will allow them to play 2nd and 3rd teamers in the 2nd half of games all season, and greatly reduce their attrition, while also giving them time to build up their quality of depth.

UGA has a pitiful, easy schedule. Enough said. It’s sad.

That’s why we need a full sec schedule imo
or only 1 out of conference game a year. It can be USC or Charlotte 49ers

If some of the other SEC East schools would hold up their end of the bargain, UGA schedule might not look so bad. It's really an indictment on the the rest of the division that the CFB world considers their schedule a joke. 2024 that problem goes away.

It’s not so different from the Vols schedule. Sure it’s tougher to play Bama than Auburn. That is the only major difference.

I've heard this whine fest several times too. UGA plays NOBODY. Well, there we are, right in the middle of it. UF and AU are traditional powers, but have been in the dumps lately. Plus UGA had OU scheduled, but that got zapped when the SEC deal happened. So, yeah, they got a heckava draw, but it is what it is ... we just need to be there to whip day fanny when it's our turn. That's all that matters to me.

Yeah I actually agree. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed the WLOCP in the past, but it’s by far mostly just a celebration for rich folks. I’ve been fortunate enough to hob-knob with them a few times and it’s pretty fun, but it is what it is. A great excuse to get out your yacht and sail it to Jax. And mingle and talk **** with all the other rich people. I’m not downing it, if I had a yacht I might do it every year also. Sincere Happy 4th to you as well!!!
I should say my "stfu" was in jest, and I should've put it in blue font in retrospect. lol I went to the game in 2008 down there and it was a lot of fun. I'm all for neutral site showcase games every now and again between rivals, but when it's annually done like that, it's not right for the rest of the conference to not have the same option each year, too.

No worries brother, I knew what you meant and took it the right way. Heck, even if you did mean it literally, it’s fair game 😂, after all this is the Volnation forum!

Honestly I’d love to see the GA FL game go to a home and home format. I think it would be better for recruiting for both sides, especially GA. I could be wrong, but it feels more of a political situation with this game. It’s been played there so long that it does now seem traditional as well. Mix the politics, money, and traditional status together and it’s gonna be tough to move this game away from Jax.

I’ve never understood what UGA gets out of playing in JAX. It sucks in the years when the SEC counts it as a home game
