Hate to be Worley right now

Yes I agree with others. This team has several hurting players this morning that gave 110% and I praise all of them. It would have been very easy for them and Worley to lay down last night and get rattled at times however they kept fighting and actually kept us in a game that seemed to be heading one direction. It all starts from the coach and works its way down. We may be headed in the proper direction FINALLY!

Worley is a man! I would like to see the negs play like that, when you are getting knocked down almost ever down. I can't see many other qb taking that kind of punishment.

Go Vols!!!

Right on target OP and we will get better on the Oline too. We should all remember that OK had us 4 to 1 before the game started.....in great recruiting classes that is.

The man is the toughest QB I think I've seen play for Tennessee. He will lead us to some hard fought wins this year. He didn't blame the terrible offensive line either which is a mark of a good leader.

Nobody with two-licks of sense is blaming Worley for last night.

For that matter, within the team, I'm sure he went from being "the leader" to being "The Man." It was one of the toughest performances I've seen from a UT QB since Shuler / Bama 92.

Agree 100%.

That guys got some big balls. After that hit that bounced his head on the ground (the one they kept showing on replay) I was sure he had a concussion. It takes some form of beast mode to fight past that.

Proud of him for sure. :salute:

I thought it was a gutsy performance, it was brutal but you really can't blame anyone on their effort.

I get up this morning and read many comments here. It doesn't amaze me anymore because it's common with some of our fans. But, people placing blame on Worley ALMOST amazed me once again.
Imagine being that kid this morning! He is hurting all over. He stood tall. He took shots all night long and still managed to be clutch on many 3rd downs to keep us in it. We could have had a young Manning behind center last night and still gotten beat as badly. 75% of the QB's in CFB would have gotten extremely rattled last night in his cleats.

When the media does it it's called "critiquing". When fans do it, it's called "criticizing". Fans have been criticizing the quarterback since the first quarterback took the field. I reckon they'll be criticizing the quarterback when the last one hangs up his helmet. Criticizing the players/coaches/ support staff is part of the game. Justin Worley knows this. CBJ knows this. They will just keep doing what they do regardless of what the fans and media say. Just like Peyton Manning, Casey Clausen, Eric Ainge et al did. I may strongly disagree with what a fan says, but (insert dramatic background music) I will defend to the death their right to say it. However, I do reserve the right to correct spelling and punctuation mistakes.
GO VOLS!

I'd hate to be an HIV positive African dirt farmer whose entire family just got diagnosed with Ebola. Worley is on a full scholarship getting Lord knows what kind of fringe benefits and gets his name splashed all over national television weekly.

And you have been in rehab for how many week this time?

I hope you never complain then. This kind of example is ridiculous...so we aren't allowed to complain or ever feel sorry for ourselves because someone somewhere has it worse than us? The severity of the problems of others has no impact on the personal experience of lesser problems.

Yes. Whether kidney stones, fibrosis, or your team getting blown out, keep your trap shut so long as someone, somewhere has Ebola.

Or Dengue fever. Keep your trap shut if someone has Dengue fever...or fer-de-lance bites.

I gained a ton of respect for Worley last night. That kid got beat to death. Every time he just picked himself up and did it again. Respect!!!

There were posts in one thread early this morning stating he forced the ball and his 2 picks were big reasons we were beat. They actually stated we would have possibly been tied with OKU if he wouldn't have turned the ball over. Another thread stated his lack of being able to run the ball well was an issue. I don't make this stuff up. I have no reason to bash fans unless they deserve it! Trust me, like other schools we have some ignorant people that talk out of their butts and don't understand the game. Just not in the mood this morning for any blame to be placed on this kid after such a tough performance!!!! I will not pin point the threads because that will bring the posters into the conversation for a fuss. I am not starting trouble just hoping the kid might read our compliments and praise for him.

There will always be whiners and contrarians but the vast majority were satisfied with Worley's performance considering the OU DL was in his lap the entire game.
