I forgot to set up my DVR to record this so I am glad they are going to re-run the first part. Gotta set it up tonight when I get some. I hope it lives up the previews because they previews looked great.

First one was great setting the background and setting up for all hell to break loose. I knew the ratings would be pretty good because it seems like everyone was talking about it but had no clue the numbers would be that good!

Uncle Jim is one mean ole SOB.

+1 He is my favorite character so far. His sidekick with one eye is my second favorite.

I keep thinking Anse is going to show compassion at some point (letting the McCoy mother have her boys back, accepting Susanna in the family, etc), then turns out to be ruthless at every turn.

The Susanna/Jonesie story is boring IMO, but other than that this is quality television.

This has evolved into Paxton's and Costner's "Lonesome Dove".

Possibly with the exception of "America: History of us" series, this is the greatest production to come from the History Channel in the last decade.

Fan effing tastic so far and I've already ordered the DVD set.

There will be a major turn in Anse's carachter in tonight's episode, IMO.

I'm like you. Jim Vance is my favorite character, but you know he's going to die. I'm betting Jonesie dies, too.

I was sad last night when the three boys got shot.

Sadder when Rosanna found out about jonesie.

Tonight when it ends I'll be :-( times infinity
