i do kinda agree with this. if the NK's fate was only going to be a one time episode, they could have fashioned it to be the season finale last season.........and had waay more time to do "the end" this season. They took those first two episodes to set up everything and let everyone “say goodbye” to some of their favorite characters. Then none of them died, and they just wasted time and missed an opportunity to tell a better, more gradual, more nuanced finish.
I’ve still enjoyed it, probably bc I’ve been in love with the show for so long now, but I definitely have plenty of reservations about this last season. Hopefully, these last two episodes will bring some decent closure.
or they could’ve just made this season 8 episodes. Or they could’ve done literally anything to connect the NK’s past to the present. Just an incredibly shallow ending for one of the deepest characters in the show.i do kinda agree with this. if the NK's fate was only going to be a one time episode, they could have fashioned it to be the season finale last season.........and had waay more time to do "the end" this season.
i'll agree with that.
i'm not mad about it, but two episodes really to settle it all does seem slight.
Eh. They gave us the origin of the NK. As someone who didn't read the books I don't feel like I'm missing anything on more of the NK's back story.or they could’ve just made this season 8 episodes. I’m still excited for the finish, but my expectations are lowered, and I really hope GRRM finishes the books without concerning himself with certain tv events.
They probably held whatever they had planned for the NK out for the next spinoff series. And for all we know GRRM hasn't even figured that out for himself. I want to say there's been little to no "Others" background origin story in the books.or they could’ve just made this season 8 episodes. Or they could’ve done literally anything to connect the NK’s past to the present. Just an incredibly shallow ending for one of the deepest characters in the show.
Game Of Throne must be doing something right this season; You don't have this kind of "National Championship" reaction to something that is as disappointing or poorly done as some people are saying.
I disagree that the source material has run dry. GRRM may no longer be contributing but there's still a lot of story to be told. If whoever's writing the story can't see that, then they're just bad storytellers. I'm not sure if it's HBO or D&D who decided to pull the plug, but it's not from lack of material.HBO was just acquired by AT&T for $85.4 billion. I don't think money is a problem. The source material for the show has run dry.
Well, Eff them, then. Four more episodes would not kill them, good grief. I still like this season very much but would rather it had not appeared so rushed.I've read it was basically forced on them. The 2 main producers Dan & Dave and supposedly some key cast members want done with it. After 10 years they're bored and want on to the next big thing. The show basically had the choice of forcing a quick end, or trying to carry on another 2-3 years with all new leadership & casting issues. The same article said that traditionally very few shows have ever been able to make that type of transition and not go to hell.

You just accept his existence as you do dragons, faceless men, and red priests/priestesses that can bring people back from the dead...
