That UT has the most stringent admissions ( besides Vandy) policy for athletes in the SEC and this is one reason Gruden was not interested. Alabama and Ole Miss have the lowest standards according to the report. As I have said before, until we get rid of Cheek ( FL Gator ) , our athletics will suffer. Check out our record in all of our sports programs since Cheek has been at UT and you will find it is the worst in school history. The ONLY decent program (male) we have right now is Swimming, yes Swimming!! Changes have to be made or we will continue to suffer at the bottom of the SEC in most sports.

Yeah but Franklin has Vandy winning now. So what does that say for us?

This is a universities football team, not the football team's university. I can't believe I'm even reading this. Notre Dame and Stanford both have "stringent" admissions, and both field top 10 teams.

Actually this has been talked about ALOT and is a KNOWN TRUTH. Its one of the things Hart was referring to in the Dooley fired PC when he said he would be working with Cheek to get things fixed to help UT Football be competitive.

Hart did say, that there have been problems for years,at a guess i would think that was what hurt Fulmers recruiting

They already changed it. This was part if the Hart press conference when Dooley was canned

I think Hart mentioned something about that in his presser the other day. I thought he said something like "we are working on that" or "working to correct that" or something like that?

I had a friend make a 23 on his ACT and not get into UT. I know for a fact you can get into State with less than a 20.

makes you wonder how much it has hurt recruiting in the past, didn't Spurrier go thru the same thing a couple of years ago ?

Only a few reasons why you don't get accepted to a state university. 1.)You're borderline Arky 2.) You are full blown Arky 3.) You are a white male and their quota has been met.

lol some of the people I go to school with are idiots so I doubt UT's standards are that high. Just come to campus one day and look around and see what I mean.

I think Fulmer hurt Fulmer's recruiting. He got lazy and starting taking chances on thugs hence the fabled Fulmer Cup.

I would say FL and A&M are harder than our Vols... Vandy, Fla, and A&M rank extremely high academically every year and keep the standards high..

Fl's requirements are inflated. They have twice the student population of UT and twice that of applications.
