I think technically anyone can try to push/do it....but the AD or football social media makes it more official and advertises the approval

You know, sitting here thinking about it...I'm just not sure. I know that when he makes it "official" an email goes out to ticket holders with a link to look at the colors per section. A lot of people don't do social of any kind, especially some of the older folks. I guess I thought he's always made a "checkered Neyland" official when it was done. I'm getting older myself, my mind doesn't work as well as it did few years ago. I could very well be wrong here.

Correct, unless the Athletic Dept makes an official announcement to promote it, it’s not a “Checker Neyland” game. The majority of fans who attend games don’t post here and wouldn’t get the memo otherwise.

I figured it would be a 3:30 kick and checker neyland in effect. Still waiting on the official news but let’s show these Texans how rowdy we get in rocky top. 🤘

It will probably be pretty cold at night on November 18. Most people don’t own heavy coats in orange or white. That’s why checker Neyland games are in September or October, not November.

You do realize the potential is there to be very cool that day right? How many people have white coats? Checker Neyland does NOT work in colder temps....that's why we ALWAYS do it in September or October
