Hearing A&M is going to be our Checked Neyland game

Better A&M than Georgia. We’ll need for our nose to the grindstone when GA visits Neyland.

I like it for A&M because its enough to get the crowd amped against a non-traditional rival (which is still a big game). We shouldn't need any reason to be excited about Georgia coming to town.

I heard that we were invited to their midnight yell thingy that they do before every game. Maybe we can take them to waffle house afterwards...wink wink

Wouldn’t mind saving a night game sitting 9-1 and checker Neyland for the Ga game.

I know four other people already told you, but I'm going to get my pound of flesh as well...ITS COLD IN NOVEMBER THATS WHY WE DO IT IN SEPTEMBER OR OCTOBER!!

We are coming in for the A&M game from the NW corner of Washington State. Bucket list SEC game. Can't wait to join over 100k Vols fans. Just took the seat test, and it came up ORANGE. We plan to spend lots of time around the stadium before the game, but will take any suggestions on the best things to do. Thanks in advance and GO Vols & Go Cougs!

You're in for a treat. Make sure to read up on the gameday environment. You'll want to experience the Vol Navy, the Vol Walk, running through the T and so much more!

It will probably be pretty cold at night on November 18. Most people don’t own heavy coats in orange or white. That’s why checker Neyland games are in September or October, not November.
Also a moot point because the Georgia game will be at 3:30 on CBS.

Do you know the guy that goes to the ESPN Gameday city every week that waves the WSU flag?
Also, do you expect WSU and Oregon State to join the Mountain West?

Coug grad who lives in Albuquerque. The flags get sent around the country to different folks each week who are in the area of where damn is being held. This week in Seattle. (I was hoping for Knoxville). No idea where OSU/WSU will wind up. Stringing us along. Still some sort of possibility of keeping Pac-12(ish) name, and bring in others from Mountain West and/or elsewhere. That keeps the P12 $ home. West coast schools in the B10 are in for some travel miles. Not football, using charters, but smaller roster sports. That stuff doesn't seem to matter any longer. If it ever did.

See you VOLS on Saturday!

Thanks for the info.
I have a suggestion for you as a former media person.
You should contact the local newspaper (Knoxville News Sentinel) and the local Knoxville TV stations.
Ask for the Assignment Editor. They love stories like yours of people traveling a long distance to see their first Vol game. I’m sure they would interview you on the Friday before the game and maybe even after the game To see what you thought about East Tennessee and Neyland Stadium.
Heres how you can reach them.

Very cool that you are coming to East Tennessee to see a game! Neyland is quite a place. Be sure to get to the stadium area in time to see the Pride of the Southland Marching Band perform the Salute to the Hill. They start the march 1:50 prior to kickoff, and the crowd will be big. Don't miss it.

I was fortunate enough to get to wave the WSU flag at both Gameday events last year, including getting my picture made with the WSU Storm Trooper. Good times!

We hope to be the first one's there and soak it all in. That's what it's all about. And great for you with your Gameday adventures!
