Heisman 2011

But I think the KState and A&M games are going to weigh heavily on voters minds if they watched them. RGIII definitely shrunk a bit in those instances, while Luck was absolutely money in the 3OT USC game.

It's Baylor. They always suck and he has them in a position to win 10. They had never beat Oklahoma. Going 9-3 at Baylor is like going 11-1 at Stanford, IMO.

That's the one reason I like him for consideration but he was still in two very winnable games and screwed up big time.

I think they should give it to Peyton. They owe him one. I could care less who gets it. If a Tennessee player is in the running again, I hope we do not send the player to New York and tell them to mail it to us if he wins it.

Ball gets the Heisman if he beats Trents 200 yards next week in the conference championship. He's already got more yards and TD. RGIII lost the Heisman IMO after he went out of the game last week and Baylor seemed to do better without him.

I disagree, Richardson may deserve it, but he was padding stats against bad opponents, which disqualifies him from being a runaway winner.

Georgia Southern (179 yards, 3 TD's), North Texas (163 yards, 3 TD's), Ole Miss (213 yards, 4 TD's). He only had 1355 yards and 13 TD's over the remaining 9 games.

This is the antithesis of Mark Ingram who sat a lot against cupcakes, and had enormous games against the best opponents. Not that Richardson didn't play well in big games.

I agree with your statement that Richardson isn't a run away winner, but strongly differ in your take that he padded his stats against inferior opponents.

Quality Opponents
Arkansas - 211 Total Yards : 1 TD
Florida - 209 Total Yards : 2 TDs
Auburn - 208 Total Yards : 1 TD
LSU - 169 Total Yards

"Inferior" Opponents
North Texas - 11 Carries - 15.2 yards per carry.
Ole Miss - 17 Carries - 10.8 yards per carry.
Only against Georgia Southern did he get major carries.

Consider that the Lacy and Fowler added another 1,100 yards and and 11 TDs, and that when Ingram won he had this year's Heisman front runner and two other quality backs behind him.

1. RGIII
2. Barkley
3. Richardson
4. Luck
5. Ball

Richardson is phenomenal, but anyone can look good behind that line. Lacy could have ran for 1300 easy if he was the starter this year.

RGIII.

I will be at Baylor/Texas game this weekend. Hope it makes me feel better about my Vols to watch the other UT lose to Baylor for the second year in a row.

Anyone but Richardson. Only reason is I'm a hater and don't want to listen to Bama fans down here.

TIFWIW.

But can anyone carry about 6 defenders with him for additional yardage on just about every carry?

Heard a good interview today from the guy who runs stiffarmtrophy.com which apparently is the most accurate Heisman predictor and has correctly called the last ten awards. Said Luck, RGIII and Richardson are the clear cut favorites in that order.

Luck and RG3 are worth more to their team than Richardson. Bama would hurt but it wouldn't kill them. Take Luck or Griffin away from either of their teams and they're toast. I'd give it to Luck.

I agree with all this except I would give it to RGlll I think he's had more "wow" moments than Luck, IMO

1. Robert Griffin III
2. Trent Richardson
3. Tyrann Mathieu

(I'd have LaMichael James and Andrew Luck at 4 and 5 if ballots went to 5)

I can't see voting for richardson when you have someone like montee ball that beats him across the board in all categories. Having said that I know richardson will be in the top 3, but I just don't get all the extreme hype he gets.
