Heisman pure politics !

Stroud will win the Heisman hands down because all the northern and midwestern voters will block vote for him. The southern voters will split between SEC players.

Issue with Heisman is that it is awarded too early. It shouldn't be given out until the last game is played in January.

The award is supposed to go to the best player in college football. Not the best player on the best team. While the best player could be playing in the N.C. game, for many years that was not the case. As someone else mentioned reference Barry Sanders. He by far was the best college football player, but his team was not. It's a popularity contest now. The flashiest player on the flashiest team.

Gotta be honest, though, I’m gonna be in market for a truck to tow my camper and the Nissan Titan has a surprisingly good towing capacity for its price point.

But yeah other than that Nissan is kind of lost on me.
I wouldn’t trust it, my friend. Nissan is the worst of the Japanese automakers, because they’re really French (Renault). I’d go with an F-150 or a Toyota Tundra personally. But then again I come from a long line of Ford owners so maybe I’m biased!

What??🙄.

That would be a total disrespect to all the other candidates that strived to get the trophy this year. It's an award.
If you don't intend to accept it, then just don't come to the presentation.

And have you even considered how much stuff like that helps recruiting???
Come on, dude....😕
Yeah, seems a bit much to me too. Just say something like “On behalf of myself and my teammates, and all the greats who have worn orange…”

I quit watching the Heisman Trophy garbage when Peyton Manning was screwed out of it. It has totally resorted to politics and is based on the area of the country where the most media votes are located. Most people realize this. Even though Hendon Hooker should win it hands down ,he will never get enough votes simply due to the fact he plays for Tennessee(fewer votes in this regional area). This is strictly my opinion and from talking to many others they feel exactly the same way. So, I had rather watch old Mayberry RFD rerunds than watch any Heisman presentation.

The season is t over yet. We can’t say Hooker should win it hands down with 4+ games to go. Look, we all know Hooker is one of the best CF players out there. But you cannot ignore what some other guys are doing. Stroud, Maye, Young are all having great seasons.

He could absolutely win it. But if Stroud lights Michigan up and wins out? It’s gonna be hard for Hooker to win. But if Hooker lights up UGA and we win out? Print his name in the trophy because he wins.

I agree OP, I quit watching the heisTman when ESPN cost Peyton the trophy. And make no mistake it was ESPN that started the campaign for that other guy.

Espn and ABC hyped Woodson because of the rose bowl. That's the only reason. Carl Pickens had better stats than woodson.

Here’s my prediction. UT has to go 13-0 with an SEC championship victory for Hooker to win the award. If UT loses a game and OSU goes undefeated, I don’t see Hooker getting it over Stroud. If they both have one loss, I still think Stroud gets it over Hooker. I don’t have any insider info, it’s just what I think will happen.

Don’t forget Hank Lauricella who also finished second in the voting.

I'd say Hank Lauricella was also robbed, as he lost to a guy from the IVY LEAGUE! It was the last time anyone from the IVY league won this trophy.

So... we were runners up to:
The last guy from the IVY league to win the trophy (Dick Kazmaier vs Hank Lauricella)
The only guy to win it from a team with a losing record (Paul Hornung vs Johnny Majors)
The guy who played basketball, not football, after winning (Charlie Ward vs Heath Shuler)
And the only Defensive player to win the award (Charles Woodson vs Peyton Manning)

Hookers Heisman Hopes rest on 2 things

1 Strouds Performance VS Michigan. Because its so late in the season if he shows out there its gonnabe on voters mind. Unless.
2 Hookers Performance this weekend. If he plays decent and we beat UGA.. game over. If we lose to UGA but he balls out its still a conversation depending on what Stroud does vs Michigan.

the tiebreaker if both do well in their big game will be what happens during championship week.

I think Hooker is in the lead in voter's minds right now. its just that because Stroud does not have his big game till final game and basically cupcakes up till then This weekend is everything for Hooker. Right now Hooker is on pace to exceed his stats from last year in every way.. more hards more passing/rushing TDS less ints. The only stat he is being on is rushing yards right now. If he ends the season with 30+ passing TD's and under 3 INTs its gonnabe hard for them to not vote for him. Unless we get roasted by UGA.

I have said for a long time if there ever was a Tennessee player to win the Heisman, they should walk up there, stand at the podium with trophy in hand and refuse to accept it on behalf of Jonny Majors and Peyton Manning because of the voting malfeasance that robbed them both of winning the trophy. Then, hand the trophy back and walk off the stage.
So it's just those 2? The other 2 didn't deserve it??

My biggest concern is that the PR campaign for Stroud has been going strong for more than just this season. I expect they will justify giving it to Stroud because a Big 10 player hasn’t won the award since 2006.

I agree, however:
If UT gets by UGA, they likely are undefeated, and Hooker played great. Then, Michigan could give Stroud problems and they could lose that one. That could be the crucial factor imo.

Hooker has a very good chance. I just think if Hooker and Stroud finish with the same numbers, both teams are undefeated and heading to the CFP; Stroud will win the Heisman.

I'd agree. It's so much about stats and the prestige of the school/coach.

Johnny was robbed as badly if not worse than Peyton. Paul Hornung on a 2 win Notre Dame team.

Since I am the orig poster..............................If I won it I would set it on fire right there on the stage after I gave my acceptance speech. While burning I would say this is in memory of Peyton Manning, Hendon Hooker and all the others that got screwed simply due to not living in an area rich in media votes !!!
Tuscaloosa and Norman Oklahoma aren’t exactly media hotbeds, and they’ve dominated the Heisman Trophy for the last 16 years (which was the last time anyone from the Big 10 won it).

Actually, ESPN will INSIST that the OSU QB steals the trophy from HH4H
Ohio State(or anyone else from the Big Ten) last won a Heisman 16 years ago.

I swear some of you are trolling.
