Hell on Wheels

Yeah I figured Common was the one who asked to be killed off. There's no way I could believe the writers decided on their own to write him off.
It looks like Common would of had to sign some type of contract about how many episodes he had to do. Maybe he did, and the producers just honored his wishes of being killed off, but this will hurt the show. Like you said, there is no way they would of done this by themselves,

working my way through season 3 on Netflix, but I have to ask, how did the Swede survive that fall from the railroad bridge? His hands were tied, and he landed in shallow water where there were very visible rocks.

I have no idea. I think they messed up showing him fall in shallow water.

"Just remember I asked you." The guns are out of the chest. Let's hope for non-stop gun fights for the remainder of the season.

It's good to see Bohannon with a gun in his hand and a scowl on his face.

But if you are in a running battle, why do you bunch up in a building and leave your weapons outside?

The last Episode saw the preacher lady gun down Sidney just as there was going to be a big shoot out with him and Bohannon. Exactly what was Psalm going to do standing near Bohannon? He wasn't even wearing a gun and we know Sidney would shoot anyone, even a former slave. Well, I miss Elam and the direction this show is taking has been a let down this season.

I'm not sure I get the criticism about the "direction" of the show; if anything it seems like they are getting back to how it was before all the Mormon crap last season.

Some good news and some sad news!

AMC Renews 'Hell on Wheels' for Fifth and Final Season

AMC Renews 'Hell on Wheels' for Fifth and Final Season

The final 14 episodes will be split into summer runs in 2015 and 2016

AMC is bringing back Hell on Wheels for a fifth and final season.

The cable network has ordered 14 more episodes for the Saturday drama, splitting the final run into two half-seasons, a rollout strategy it has employed for prestige offerings, such as Mad Men and Breaking Bad. The first seven episodes will air next summer with the final seven premiering in summer 2016.

"With season five of Hell on Wheels, we are proud to bring our transcontinental journey to conclusion for the large, loyal audience that has traveled with Cullen Bohannon and his crew for so many years," said AMC president Charlie Collier. "We look forward to appropriately honoring Hell on Wheels in this final season. Enormous thanks to the terrific writers, cast and crew for all they have achieved and for all that lies ahead in the Wild West."

Hell on Wheels is averaging 3.4 million viewers on Saturdays in live-plus-three ratings, with 965,000 in the advertiser-coveted 18-to-49 demographic and 1.3 million among adults 25 to 54. The Western drama wraps up its fourth season Nov. 22.

AMC moved Hell on Wheels to Saturdays ahead of its third season, a decision that was initially seen as a death knell. However, the Anson Mount-led drama has proven resilient, maintaining an audience over the past two seasons and establishing a brand-new evening of original programming for AMC.

Well, I'm glad they aren't going to drag it out too long. 5 seasons seems like a good run for a show like this that's sort of flown under the radar.

Awesome show...this is the way to do series...Brits have it right.

Agree 100%.......the only thing keeping me going is hoping to see the carpetbagger's head blown off (no nasty comments about the newspaper lady)
If he keeps pushing the Ruth issue it may come down to it. Bohannon will never let the carpetbagger hang Ruth.

Hard to see what she did as murder...what were they waiting for Snow to do? Burn the rest of the town down and kill somebody else? And what does Mickey's friend get for plucking a guy's eyeball out and eating it?
