Hello Miss. State

He coached at Kansas State.

He made the Elite Eight without any NBA players. He's a hothead and an *******, but he's regarded as one of the better coaches in the country.

He cheated in hs hoops and is shady as hell. Pretty popular opinion that he cheated to get Michael Beasley.

The scary thing about a team like mississippi state is they have NOTHING to lose, they will be so loose and sometimes you see teams shoot lights out when playing like that. If we can take control in the first 10 minutes I'll be happy, however you let them hang around into the second half and they'll be playing loose while we tighten up.

That said, take care of the ball, trae show up and we should win by double digis.

I'll take the 10 win, 6 scholarship team with nothing to lose over Frank Martin coached club with nothing to lose everytime.

Frank Martin hasn't tried to coach he last 10 or so games. He seems to only coach his good teams. Sorry Sc. Your coach gave up on you in Jianuary.

Definitely agree. Win the bama game and we're in. In my opinion the winner of that game is in the tourney and the loser is looking at the NIT

Bama has to do more than that. No way they get in by just beating us. Resume is not that good.

I thought MS looked predictably pretty bad and sloppy, impatient, very little discipline in working the ball around the perimeter. Our maturity and inside defense is far superior to my eye. Stokes could really take this game over if he's rebounding and powering around on the inside even close to as well as he did against Mizzou for example. Unless we are looking past them on epic levels, McRae scores less than 15 and Golden less than 5, then we should win this game comfortably if not easily. My hope is that we are past the point of possible implosion. At first I thought the 2nd UGA loss was implosion (apart from Golden, which was basically implosion), but now I think it was simply a due down day, coupled with a much improved Georgia squad. Overall I think the Vols are pretty mature and very capable of winning 2 games if we are playing on something like the level we've been on for the past 9 games.

Warm up game with the minutes spread around to 10 guys at least. Get used to the rims, lighting, officiating, etc. and take care of business. Then bombs away against Bama.

We lose this one, it would be the worst loss of the year. No WAY we lose this game. Play smart, no injuries, take care of biz on Friday!!!!

Not gonna lie.....I am pretty nervous about this game. For some reason Tennessee usually plays down to their opponents level. On paper we should beat them by 20+. We have a favorable draw in the SEC tourney and we should make the most of it.

You aren't the only one who is nervous, my friend. I can assure you of that. I'm always nervous (BadJerry can vouch for me there), but even more so with our history in this tournament.

So many unexplainable losses, even just since Bruce Pearl got here. Because I'm bored:

2006: Pearl's first year. We were the East 1-seed (won East outright), yet lost 79-71 to the East 5-seed, USCe.

2007: We were the East 3-seed and lost our first game to a not-very-good-possibly-even-terrible LSU team (West 6-seed). It went to OT and we lost 76-67. I remember this game like it was yesterday. I was ****ing PISSED afterward.

2008: Made the semis, but lost 92-91 in a heartbreaker to Arkansas on a ****ing garbage turnaround fadeaway by a man named Steven Hill, who looked like a homeless guy and, as I remember it, had zero offensive skill. In other words, the shot was luck.

2009: Made the finals but choked away a winnable game against the fighting Jarvis Varnado's of Mississippi State.

2010: Our eventual Elite Eight team made the semis before getting just absolutely shelled by the John Wall-Cousins-Bledsoe-Lamb Kentucky Wildcats. 74-45. Yikes.

2011: Pearl's last year. The team that just tanked the end of the season. We were only the East 5-seed and lost in the quarters to Florida, 85-74.

2012: You guys remember it. We needed the win to stay in the conversation but Ole Miss came out and slapped us, eventually winning in overtime by a score of 77-72.

2013: ?

Man oh man. Doing this only reiterated to me how abysmal we are in this tournament. Wish I hadn't done that, but like I said, I'm bored.

Anyone who actually reads this has my thanks. :hi:

So much heartbreak. It's almost hard to be positive about our chances. Hopefully we don't lay an egg today.
